They are okay. The guys that come?have always been very nice and very courteous. It is about $200 a year for them to come out. $50.00 more, if they have to clean the filter. I think it is terrible that they charge me so much to clean the filter.

I was very pleased with the responsiveness of this company. I received a call the day before and the day of the appointment to remind me and to provide an expected time of arrival. The Technician (Chris) was very knowledgeable and carefully explained everything he did over the course of about 3 hours. He checked coolant pressures, heating and cooling temperature differentials, condensation drains, and even replaced some loose wires in the emergency strip heating unit. He thoroughly cleaned the heat pump. The service was comprehensive and informative. I highly recommend this company.

We called Advantage Heating Cooling and Plumbing after verifying their credentials on Angie's List and the BBB. One of their service techs, Matt, came out to our house the day after we called them. It was late in the day, after his installs, and he patiently stayed into early evening to thoroughly discuss the HVAC options for our cottage. He was clearly interested in making sure we understood everything about the ductless system itself, installation options and working with Advantage.
A detailed proposal from Advantage was e-mailed the following day, including two different options with different pricing to choose from. We confirmed a few details with the office staff and placed the order with them (50% deposit, ok in our experience for this type of system). Our installation was scheduled for 10 days out, which seemed reasonable given that this is their busy season. Prior to the installation we received detailed instructions on what to expect, and also worked with the office staff to get rebate forms filled out.
On installation day, Matt arrived as expected and spent most of the day installing the system. He was personable and more than willing to answer routine questions about the installation and operation of the system. Although much of the installation required working in the attic in the heat of a July day, Matt seemed to take it all in stride and simply motored through everything that had to be done. We like the work ethic. The installation was completed on time and to our satisfaction.
As of a few weeks later, the ductless system has been working great and we are pleased with the whole experience. We will use Advantage in the future for anything HVAC related on our property.

After first scheduling a service call, we wondered if 30 min. travel time could be a problem if additional parts/furnace would be needed from their shop. A phone call to Gary, in business for 30+ years, explained parts and furnaces are on their trucks, so no problem. As our furnace is nearing 20 yrs. old, we considered replacement a strong possibility and had many questions. Gary took time to thoroughly answer all questions, adding to what I read on Consumer Reports today. (Gary corobborated there's little difference with quality of high AFUE ratings). I like knowing Advantage's recommended brand's (Energy Air) heat exchanger has a lifetime warranty for the original owner, 10 years overall on all parts and labor and has the same AFUE rating as the RHEEM they also sell which has less warranty time. Gary's expertise was extensive and yet he wasn't pressing for a particular resolution.

Matt Hart - a clean-cut technician - arrived on time, was pleasant and offered, unasked, to use the shoe coverings he carried. He quickly ascertained a cracked surface igniter prevented lighting and also recommended an overdo furnace cleaning, carefully answering questions on how this would impact furnace performance. All work was completed in under two hours and the work area was well-cleaned at finish.

Excellent. Been using since 2006--always happy. They do maintenance on our furnaces every winter and on A/C units every summer. Also use for HVAC problems, but rarely need this b/c the units are being cleaned and serviced so well. We rarely have good things to say about servicers, but these guys are great. Prompt, knowledgable, polite. Respectful of our home and always wear foot booties w/o being asked. Always willing to teach us about our HVAC units and how to maintain them to extend their useful life. Honest and reliable. Highly recommend!

Everything turned out well.

I was very pleased with the work that they did. The only downside was that I needed them to replace my automatic thermostat control and since he did not leave until after 7:30 PM, I just attributed it to the lateness of the hour and the miserable rain and mud he had to work in. I would have forgotten about it too if it were me! I will call them again to replace the thermostat on another visit. They have a good service plan that cuts the cost of annual system checks which is what I should have been doing all along. I let it go way too long - twice in 15 years - not too smart on my part! He also took time to explain various options to give me better temperature consistency between the daylight basement and the main floor which I really appreciated. In the process he verified what I had suspected that the current unit was undersized for the size of the house.

I like them. I have used them about five times in the past ten years. They do maintenance on my heat pump every year, and they service my furnace. When I saw water leaking, I called them. The work was a bit expensive.

Scheduling was easy and the job was taken care of right away. I got a call and report when it was complete. Exactly what I needed.

I have been using them for over 10 years. They seem to have a special expertise in dealing with vintage homes and that's why I hired them originally. I had a 1908 Victorian farmhouse and they took care of the plumbing and heating issues there for a long time. I had a 1913 giant octopus furnace in the farmhouse on which they worked on. They gave me a lot of extra years on that. They worked hard to find the old parts and a couple of times they actually tinkered with the part to make it work. They also found another part that was close so that the furnace worked for some more years. I replaced it just 2 years back. I had a really difficult job once and they held to the original estimate. It took many extra hours than that was expected but the crew stepped up to work even though a worker bashed his knuckles on the job several times. They had to put an antique pedestal and he kept bashing his hand as the tower was close. He kept with it and did a good job.

Scott came out on Friday to diagnose the leak and then returned on Monday to fix it. The $35 diagnosis fee was refunded when I had them fix it. Scott was really great about explaining everything to me and answering my questions. I was very happy with the service. No more leak, and I'll certainly call them next time.

It was on a Sunday when the temperature got to 104 degrees and my air conditioning went out. I moved into our unfinished basement with a radio. I didn t even try to make it an emergency because when it is this hot a lot of the city has problems. I called them on Monday morning and they came quickly after I called them. They found that the brackets that hold the motor in the duct were shattered. The brackets had to be ordered. It was not their fault. I just stayed in the basement. They did come back on Tuesday evening to put in the brackets. They moved as fast as they could. They were here forever. They worked diligently. I even had them come into the basement with me for a while to cool off. They were great about keeping in touch with me about the status of the part. The repairman was especially understanding about how difficult it is without air conditioning. I just paid my $55 co-pay due with my home warranty coverage. The price grading is not applicable for me.

We had to remove some duct work to get to an opossum that had expired behind it. He was quick and friendly.

This company was dispatched by my home warranty company. Joy was helpful and accurate in her timing in scheduling a technician. Mike, the technician, was right on time, professional, and was immediately able to diagnose and repair the problem. The home warranty company has dispatched this company for other problems twice in the past 2 years. Each time the experience has been as favorable as this.

No problem with work done, professionalism or price. There are two things I am unhappy about though. The first and main thing is that the water line failure was due to too sharp a bend in the line just before it entered the heat exchanger. Both the HVAC guy and plumber confirmed this when I asked what the problem was. I think that when they inspected the system for me 2 years ago or 3 weeks before the failure they should have pointed out a potential problem. The other thing that made me slightly unhappy is that I called their emergency number and their voice mail said someone would call me within the hour. Three hours later about 8:10 A.M. I called them. They did not offer some help as to make sure the water was off as another plumbing company did. Additionally I was without heat for about 60 hours when the temp was down to 26 both nights. Repair took about 20 minutes. I would use them again, but I probably won't.
