Not my first visit and will continue to give them all my electronic repairs etc, a very happy customer.

110% satisfied!! Quirky guy, but he KNOWS TV repair!! DO NOT GO TO SAMSUNG "factory warranty" people. They repair washers and dryers, NOT TVs!!!

It went well, we brought the TV in on Monday and was done by Thursday. Price was just right, just under $200. Ableman TV responded to me very quickly via email/phone. Which I really appreciate!

After a few rather interesting experiences this is the only television repair service we use.  They have a shop charge for looking at things that they can attempt to repair so they actually know what is wrong with a piece of equipment so they can tell you what the repairs are actually going to cost.  They will tell you what is wrong with something and what can be done to fix it and  how long you can normally expect the repair to last.  This allows you the choice of repairing or junking something. This repair required replacing all of the capacitors in a TV's power supply and the repair should last for years.  They had the TV overnight and had it fixed the next day.  The cost was in line for the service.  As usual the staff is easy to deal with and pleasant.  I would highly recommend them for any electronic repairs.

It went better than expected!
I had a Technician ( Gordan ) came out to do the service, very gentle and nice guy. He checked things out to repair what possibly could have been the problem by what I had seen on the internet. I had talked with another person over the weekend by email with this company for the possibility as to the problem would be. He agreed to check it out BUT I was very persistent that the items that I had seen on the internet must be ruled out. Gordan pulled out the item that seemed to possibly be the problem, he checked it over and said he seen nothing that looked bad visually but hew did replace two items that he thought could be the problem. found out that was not the problem. Something had caught Gordans attention as he he was first checking in to it. Long story shortened it was repaired by his visual knowledge of a possible problem.
I was surprised as I was concerned that the bill would get blown up more by what he had to do to repair it and I had called in to check on what may be an extensive bill, I was assured on the phone by the person who answered not worry it will work out. Sure enough it did and in the end the bill was less than the quote I think because it was discovered quickly and after all was said and done I must say that leave the guessing to the experts not the possibilities of the internet.

Ableman educated us on price of repair vs new TV. He helped to get PC readiness with trade in. We needed a TV that was compatible with Mac .

Since these units are hard to find and not being made any longer, I was hoping it was fixable. Looked for a replacement on E-Bay and was shocked to see them going for well in excess of what they used to cost when new.
Rex replaced the laser and it is now full of 400 DVD disks and working just like it did when new. The price of repair was very reasonable and took about 2 weeks. I kind of pressed him for time, as I will be out of commission due to surgery for some time and needed the machine working to maintain my sanity. Rex complied.
Yes, Rex's place is small for the amount of work he has going on. There is not much room to walk in the store due to many flat screen TVs that need repair. Don't be put off by what appears to be a lack of organization. He knows where everything is, that's what is important.
It was worth the trip to Vancouver.

Took a look at my receiver and recommended it could not be repaired.

They have a 90 day guarantee. They could have done some more work on it, but it would have been cost more, and they did not believe it was worth the value of the TV.

I took my TV to a different shop. They had it for 1 1/2 weeks and hadn't even started on it. They hadn't even assigned it to a technician or looked at it. I found out that they are closing their shop, but didn't tell me that. I picked the TV up and took it to Ablemen,s. The owner looked at it and said that he couldn't fix it because the parts weren't available. He didn't charge me anything. I left the TV for them to dispose of.
The next morning the owner called me and said that he had been able to fix it. The cost was very reasonable.

He did the repair in the time estimated. When we picked up the VCRs, however, he had left his demo tape in the machine. We mailed it back to him, and he sent us a check for the postage. What a prince!

Husband and I went into the store about 15 minutes before closing on Saturday, May 21. Fellow at counter very helpful. Suggested price would be somewhere between $200 and $400. Offered to give our info to Thom, who would call us the following Monday. Thom called Monday morning and offered to come do the job that afternoon. He came around 2:00 pm and got right to work, attaching antenna to roof where old cable dish had been. Thom made sure all TVs had good signal. I think he was done in a little over an hour.
