We have a home we listed for rent with TMG. When we purchased our home 3 years prior, we bought a refurbished white refrigerator from another company. However it had always had a loose kick plate, and the other appliances in our home were black. We decided to replace the refrigerator with a black one to enhance the marketability of our place. Since we had a good experience before with purchasing a refurbished appliance and tenants can be notoriously rough on these items we decided on another refurbished unit. I did some research, asked different appliance repair people I respected, and 5 Corners universally came back with the best reputation. They had an excellent online reputation, so I stopped by. They had one black refrigerator available, for about $100 more than others I had seen.. It looked okay, and it was cold, so based on their reputation, I bought it. It was delivered that day. We were packed and in the final stretch, with a moving van coming 3 days later. Again, it seemed cold, so I thought we had a good fridge at a good price. We did notice about a half inch of frost around the ice maker the day we emptied out the freezer to take to my daughter, but thought nothing of it. We did not use it since our dishes were packed, so we did not have any way to determine if there was any problems with our food quality. Not 4 weeks later, our new tenants were in our home just a few days and the freezer was completely frosted over. Worse, the property manager at TMG said one tenant prospect declined the home based on the frost build up in the freezer, so the property manager unplugged the unit to let it defrost. Since the item came with a 90 day warranty, I called to request that it be fixed. I spoke with Dan Jourdan. He insisted that the technician who repaired the unit went to go look at it, and the *inside* of the freezer is damaged as if someone very heavy jumped on it. He asserted it was delivered in pristine condition, and our tenants must have damaged it. I pointed out that it had a small amount of frost when we were there and that the issues relayed to me by the property manager when the property was vacant. Dan proceeded to spend 20 minutes yelling, arguing, finally offering up the lame "can't we just agree it's not my fault, and it's not your fault"? That wasn't an answer I was satisfied with. At my request he called the property manager to confirm what I had told him, but argued with and harassed him as well, never offering a solution, never agreeing when asked to honor the warranty granted when he sold the refrigerator. Ultimately the property manager called and said we'd need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically, I could have purchased the same fridge new, with free delivery for $350 more, a bargain in retrospect. I called to let Dan know we will be collecting the appropriate affidavits and pursuing small claims, and meanwhile we would be carefully and completely documenting our experiences online, and with any relevant agencies. His only responses were to yell over me "be that way" and "oh, yeah, spell my name right, the word Five is spelled" (which if you note here, it is not how it is spelled, nor is it on the sales receipt I have here in my possession). Had he been respectful, offered anything in the way of customer service rather than abuse, or even a token, I probably would have just let it go, but the abuse, the subterfuge and childish antics with the spelling of his company name, an obvious ploy to avoid the repercussions of his actions while ironically making it look as if he's guilty and knows it... That kind of behavior needs to be documented for the protection of future customers.
Response from 5 CORNERS APPLIANCE CO
"Dan is no longer part of 5 corners appliance co, very sorry for your bad experience . I can't blame you for feeling the way you do ."

Our cloths dryer seemed to be working fine, but was making a real odd noise. I called a couple of places to consult on what the noise might be, but no one really wanted to help unless I was willing to have them out to take a look or bring the dryer to them. I got a hold of the guys at 5 Corners and they were very willing to help me try to trouble the cause of the noise and even had a couple of suggestions. I was able to determine the cause of the noise and 5 Corners had the part I needed in stock. I actually called around and looked on the Internet to compare prices for the part and 5 Corners beat them all.
