He got out here and seemed to not know anything about what I was asking. I don't like him and I wouldn't have him again. he has a lot of old people that let him log in and do whatever. I don't think he knew much what he was doing. One of the reasons I had him come out was to look at the printer and he said, "I can't do anything with that." I don't think that he is really good at what he does. He is just didn't fix something and then when I complained he said, "what, do you want me to work for free?" I just didn't like the work that he did. he says he gets his jobs by recommendation. One of the good things he does it teach computer classes and there's little old ladies in there. He came out to my house. The reason that he came is because I wanted him to look at my printer. I thought that he had mobile service. I don't know he has his own office. He didn't even give it a try. He did come out right a way. He was punctual. He is a friendly enough guy. He is good for those little old ladies.
"This person hired me over a year ago I drove out to here house and cleaned up an older desktop the issue she was having I told her might not be fixable with out a operating system XP reinstall. could not duplicate the issue. she asked me to look at her printer and there was nothing I could do it was also old I told her it would cost more to fix than it was worth. after I spent more than an hour there. she called and said it was having the problem again I told her it would cost extra to reinstall the XP she wanted me to fix with out additional charges. she also wrote a review and said she took it to another shop and had the work done so I am not sure why she is reopening this. warning she is abusing angies list"
Scott showed up later the same day. He told her he could rebuild/replace the necessary components of her PC tower (ie mother board), restore all the data and programs from her old hard drive to the new hard drive, and have her up and running by the end of the day. This was important as the computer was used for the family business and had been out of commission for several days already.
When he left he told me that he would find out what work would be needed to fix the hardware problem when he got back to the shop and send me an email describing the process and probable cost. Since it has been almost 3 months and I have heard nothing, I assume he has never gotten back to the shop.
On the positive side, he did only charge me and additional $89 for the additional 1 1/2 hours that he was here doing whatever he was doing.
I have resisted writing this review, since I did not really want to blast a local small business, but since I have received 3 or 4 requests from Angie's List I am doing so.
I am rather disappointed in my experience with Computer Guy NW. Things might have been different if Scott had shown up.
since bought a rebuilt computer from him and it works like a champ. Great guy!
