Tree Guy

These young men were very personable and professional.  They all introduced themselves to my husband and I and explained what they would be doing.  They came with a very powerful chipping machine that their specialized dump truck pulled and it was parked in a strategic location in the driveway in front of the house.   They were prepared to leave all the chipped branches and small diameter trunks if we wished which we did, knowing that we could use it as mulch.  They began with the skirting operation which they did remarkably fast...very efficient and obviously well equipped with whatever power tool in the pruning and chain saw department that was required to facilitate safe, quick and clean removal of the limbs in a way that did NOT harm the trees.  They then took down the sickly clump of large willows and dispatched it through the chipper and then turned their attention to the deformed and dangerous Douglas Fir tree that needed to be removed.  The foreman of the crew was a certified arborist, and he climbed the tree loaded with equipment including ropes and a short chain saw for the close work of taking off the limbs first step by step as he moved up the trunk.  His team was on the ground receiving the large limbs that were first roped before being removed so that they could be let down slowly and safely to the ground crew.  When all the limbs were safely removed, the remaining 25 or so feet of the trunk was roped then skillfully brought down by the foreman.  It was a fascinating process to witness.  The foreman then cut the trunk in 12 to 14 inch lengths for us to split for firewood in coming months.  At every step of their process, they were cleaning up debris and chipping all branches and material suitable for chipping.  They left the property looking virtually untouched and if we hadn't know that there were trees there before...or shaggy trees in the island, we never would have imagined that the property had just been "worked over" by timber experts.
  We highly recommend this company.  We were so impressed by the expertise possessed by the team; they were all very well equipped for the job with state of the art equipment; they were VERY mindful of safety precautions to themselves AND  the property, wearing high tech helmuts and ear protectors and using ropes in every imaginable process to secure themselves the tree branches they were working on.  They were  on time, friendly, VERY respectful of the property and informative and left us with a greatly improved landscape and many cubic yards of chipped mulch!  We will have this company back in June to remove 7 more very large Douglas Firs deeper in the woods of our property that tragically had been topped by the previous owners...a death sentence for a Fir and very sad.  But we have absolute confidence in this guys and, as a result of today's experience,  are realizing that there is another facet of tree work that the property needs in the not too distant future and we will happily call on Tree Guy for the work.  We cannot recommend this company highly enough.
