Marble and Granite Service
$400
After viewing their remnant yard we selected a piece of stone that would nicely fit for the fireplace hearth. They said it was either of 2 prices, the higher price for a stone "with movement" and the lower price for one without., and this one would be the lower price. I gave her the measurements, and she said she would send me a written bid in the next few days, which she did, about $430 including tax. The bid was good for 90 days, or until the piece sold.

We went in a couple weeks later with the bid given printed out, and said we wanted to go ahead and get it, as it was still there.
after taking the bid into the back offices, she returned a few minutes later, and said she had made a mistake, that this one was not either price, but a different one, with a price of about $625 plus tax. I pointed out that the bid was written and signed, and sent almost a week after being there. She said "we can't lose money", and would not change it, not even compromising and meeting in the middle.

Very disappointed, as I had recommended them to my neighbor, who had them install granite counters in her kitchen, and a double vanity in her bath for over $4000. Even that had a "small glitch" which they took care of nicely.
I understand someone can make a mistake on a bid, but it wasn't an instant bid, coming days later, and their attitude that it was not their problem was very frustrating. I suppose I could have taken them to small claims court to make them honor their bid, but would rather not do business with a party that won't even honor their own bid.

Nice showroom, nice work when they do it, just left a bad taste.

They were incredibly easy to work with. From the moment that we made our visit there, I liked their showroom. We told them what we needed, and they lead us over to the right price range granite for us. They just lead over to what was going to work for us. We dealt with a variety of their employees; not just the person who showed us around the showroom. Somebody came out to take measurements. Somebody else came out to do a template. Then four people came to do the installation. They were very reasonable. With regard to price, even though it is giant chunk of change, when we compared that to other places, it was very reasonable. Their quality is excellent. Even though they weren't going to necessarily get any money out of it, I had a particular floor tile that I was trying to match, and they tried to help me match it even though that's not their deal. Those are really good people.
