Joe was suppose to come at 9am to do the work, called at 8am to advise he'd be there around 1015 due to a drs appt. Showed up around 11am instead, but had forgot a tool and had to return back to Kennewick to pick up. He finally started the job around noon. At first things were going fine, he was working hard in the front yard. Then it started to rain for a bit, so he stopped, no big deal. After it stopped raining he began again, only he wasn't as motivated and I don't think he grasped what it was that I had requested him to do so I once again explained that I wanted the dirt removed from the flower beds, so that I can lay down sheeting and replant bushes and put in mulch.
He started putting the dirt in bags, which he purchased; even though I had contractor bags on site and advised him of this. After 4pm and no sign of any progress except a bunch of bags piling up around the yard, I went out. He kept giving me excuses after excuses of illness' he has and why it is taking him so long. I sympathize, really I do. However, if you have an illness and can't handle the work, then don't bid on the job.
After 5pm I was done. I asked him to pack up his things, I paid him reluctantly since he didn't do what he was there to do and I once again have to hire someone else to do the job.
I wouldn't hire him again for this type of work. I even had to tell him twice how to trim up a tree.
