Chuck Williams of silver label construction made multiple mistakes on virtually every aspect of the work, and once it failed inspection he refused to make any corrections. He also insisted on being paid before inspection, and when I stated that he would not be paid until it passed inspection as per our agreement he stated, "I am going to come to your house and get my money". He became coersive and belligerent. The corrections were made by me at my expense, and he was paid only because of his threats. He failed to follow the engineer's schematics, and seemed to not understand what they required. I personally made the following corrections at my expense after his work failed structural inspection: 1. The walls were correctly anchored into the concrete floor. 2. The walls were correctly fastened to the ceiling 2x10's per the engineer's schematics. 3. The windows had to be replaced due to the sloppy and incorrect installation once again that failed to meet inspection requirements. The exterior window work performed was done so poorly both failing to be weather-tight and matching the rest of the house that no one else I asked thought it acceptable. 4. I added approximately 600+ nails in the walls and ceiling to perform to the engineer's nailing schedule that was not followed. The ladder to the loft was never installed. The work was done with haste and far below standards of required code. Chuck Williams was a nightmare to deal with and I would strongly urge anyone considering employing him to consider hiring another contractor. In the end I spent more money correcting his mistakes than I would have otherwise spent.
Description of Work: I hired Chuck Williams as a general framing contractor. He was hired to "frame out" or add to an existing area 15x15, following detailed plans from a stuctural engineer. He was to add 2x6's to the walls, 2x10's to the existing ceiling beams, add a roof truss beam and a post to hold it in place. The walls were to be anchored into the concrete floor to code. Two windows were to be replaced to code, and the outside trim completed both weather-tight and asthetically matching the rest of the exterior windows. Interior ladder to loft space was to be installed.

Response from Silver Label Construction LLC
This complaint is grossly wrong and down right liable. This homeowner argued about expected and completed work with most the contractors on the job and he refused to pay according to the contract (which does not reference a correlation to the inspection) with the electrician, not just us. This homeowner was rude, belligerent and antagonized the arguments. This homeowner was looking for a way to get his project done for free and thought by yelling, screaming and threatening he could accomplish it. Silver Label Construction is a small family business, that has been building beautiful projects, trusted relationships and return clients since 2003. We perform with pride in our work, and respect for our clients and appreciation for making your house your dream home.
