I was really impressed with this company. I walked in to research metal roofs. I spent over an hour with them getting not only excellent information, but tips for shopping around for metal roofs. There was no high pressure sales. I left with some confidence in looking for bids. Quite the opposite when I went to the Roof Doctor in Shelton to get information. They would not give any information about their products or how they are installed. He said he needed to come out to my place which I found very strange. You could see a high pressure sale coming from that idiot!
I scheduled a quote from Cogent. They arrived promptly as scheduled. The estimator was great with answering the questions I had. When he left, there was no pressure at all to sign with them. Everything was very professional and upfront, which I appreciated.
I ended up choosing them. They gained my trust with the professionalism they showed throughout this process. The 50 year warranty on the roof followed by lifetime installation warranty were major factors with my decision. The quote was in the ball park of other estimates.
So I was all excited for the roof. Again they arrived promptly as scheduled. They arrived with a crew of four. They completed the roof in one day. And while I knew the roof would look beautiful, but it was more spectacular then I even imagined! It completely transformed the look of my house. It's been over a month since I had the roof installed and I still pause to admire the roof when I come home :)
The only thing I was disappointed was everyone was telling me how loud the roof would be when it rained. Cogent explained that the new design of the metal is not like the older design so its much quieter. Well I've had torrential rains and hail....and much to my disappointment I couldn't hear it!! :) I like the sound of the rain and was very surprised. It was no louder then my original comp roof I had.
I would strongly recommend Cogent to anyone installing a roof, whether it's metal or comp.

The work turned out to be very good. The bid was excellent and the workmanship was excellent. The time that he took to remove the old roof and put the new one was just a two and a half day turn around. It was a good work and I was very pleased with that. The price was very fair.
