The estimate was scheduled the next day from time I contacted them. The actual work was scheduled just a few days from the time of the estimate. Three workers, including the owner, came out and had the job done in less than two hours on the day it was scheduled. Truly did a nice job and was a great business to work with!
I requested bids from three services. Capital was the first to respond, was quick to schedule, prompt for the appointment, and provided a detailed bid. However, I chose another service since the bid from Capital was substantially higher than the others submitted.
Even though we are outside of Barry's service area, he still came up and gave us a bid, which would have been (a little) lower had we been in his service area but was still much much lower than any other bids we had received. He was prompt, friendly, and honest. He told us that he wouldn't be able to remove the locust tree completely but he could get it cut back as much as possible to avoid further damage to our property and then put industrial chemicals on it to prevent regrowth.
We scheduled the removals and they were here on the dot and the cherry tree was down within 10 mins. I left for work and when I came home 1.5 hrs later, every thing was done, cleaned up, and looked great! He left us some tree killer to put on the tree if any other locust suckers come back up. Before I left for work, we discussed ways that we could remove more of the locust which will involve us using a saws-all through the tree and the fence. I didn't want him to do that, I figured if we would do any damage, it would be us that does it.
I recommend using Barry and Capital Tree Experts for anything you need. If he is able to come back up in the Fall, we will use him to trim back our ornamental cherry trees. He is very knowledgeable and hard working! Seriously, use Capital Tree Experts!
We decided to go with their quote after verifying they were fully licensed, bonded and insured. The work was scheduled for the next day and they arrived promptly as scheduled. The work was performed over about four hours of time and the work had to be done at a variety of locations on a sloping property with tight spaces.
We were very pleased with the work that was performed. We do have a few piles of wood chips to use but they cleaned up the street and sidewalks prior to leaving.
