We used Parr Cabinets when they were located down on Spokane Street with a showroom and warehouse full of ready-made cabinets. While renovating a kitchen and bath in a house we were planning to sell we worked with Zach then, early 2010, and had a good experience, probably because it was a DIY, cash-and-carry sort of experience.
We're now renovating 2 bathrooms in our home and 1 requires custom cabinetry. We visited Parr, now located in Tukwila, on Saturday, June 28, 2014. After waiting 1/2 hour we finally got someone's attention for a few minutes. Before that we were either ignored or got snips of remarks like, "we're really slammed on Saturdays, it's our busiest day". You'd think, that if Saturdays are so busy, you'd likely schedule more than 2 sales people. No ?
Zach offered to help us quickly before his appointment arrived (they never did arrive so we did get his undivided attention). He listened to what we wanted, drew up a sketch, and said that he would have to send it to the cabinet company on Monday for a custom quote and he expected an answer back no later than Wednesday (July 2). Well, Wednesday came and went and then came the holiday week-end. I was patient and understood the holiday week-end might cause some delays. I did start leaving messages on Monday, July 7, three in all over the course of a couple of days. I never did receive a call back from Zach but did finally reach him on my fourth phone call. He snapped at me, "I didn't really expect them to have it back to me last week because of the holiday. I will call you when I get the quote but I can tell you it will be somewhere between $3,000 and $5,000".
Well, here it is almost 4 weeks after my initial visit and I still don't have a quote. I can only imagine how long it would take to build the cabinet if a quote takes 4 weeks. All in all it was an unpleasant experience and I have since had the vanity designed and built by a master cabinet maker for under $2,000. It is spectacular, no thanks to Parr Cabinet Design Center.
