Two separate issues here. I called Greenwood Heating and Air because they seemed to have the typical price for servicing a furnace, which was $165 (however, their $165 price was after a $30 discount - offered to everyone). Over the phone, I asked them what it would cost to replace the customer-owned thermostat, but they would not quote me a price until the service tech actually came out for the service call. I was shocked when I was told at the service call that it would be an additional $190 for a estimated half hour install. When I called the supervisor to ask about this pricing, she was very condescending with me. She finally offered a 5% discount, but I feel it was a bait and switch. At least they could have advised over the phone it is a $190 minimum for the thermostat install. If we had known that, we would have gone with a different company for both projects. We did NOT have them install the thermostat, we did have them do the furnace servicing, which seems to have gone OK. However, we would never use them again, and do not recommend them. UPDATE (10/16/2018): The vice president of the company called after reading our review. He apologized for how the original call was handled (not quoting a minimum amount for the additional service). He also apologized for how the call was handled today when we contacted the office upset over the additional $190 now quoted. He indicated this situation will be handled internally as a training opportunity and was sorry for the poor customer service. We appreciated his call.

I had a great experience working with Alan, Kalen and Carlos at Greenwood Heating & Air. They arrived promptly at 8:00 AM each morning to start the install of our Mitsubishi Ductless Mini Split units, one in the living room and one in the upstairs bedroom. I changed my mind the day of the install because the floor unit was bigger than I expected and Kalen took it all in stride. He notified the office and they sent a different unit the same day to keep the install on track. They also spent the better part of the two day install on a 40 foot ladder to reach the upstairs bedroom. Not ideal, but it was the location I wanted and they got it done. Love my new units and loved working with Greenwood!

PERFECT! The appt was on time and to my surprise I was given an install appt 5 days after meeting with the sales associate. The price, even though a little pricey, was the best of the other estimates I received. The install people showed up early after calling first, which I was happy for since it was going to be so hot and in the direct sun where they would be working. The installers were great and very professional. They did an excellent job, cleaned up, and got done just before the sun hit their working area. I could not be any happier with everything, and it was just in time for our hottest day yet 92 degrees...ugh! Update: Just an FYI, if you are elderly and or disabled you should know that one filter is recommended to be cleaned every 2 weeks to prevent fungi/mold, and another filter every 3 months. I picked the unit that is up by the ceiling not knowing this and now I find myself in need of help to clean them as I am unable. I am very happy otherwise and hope this helps others in my position to make the correct decision for the unit right for them.

Overall great experience from initial site visit/quote thru installation. Rudy and team were prompt and worked incredibly hard. Very happy with the unit and service.

It was a terrible experience. The estimate appointment evolves to a possible repair service, which would have been much less expensive than replacing the HRV unit. The technician needed to confirm if parts were available for the repair and wanted to charge me for a service appointment even though I had scheduled an estimate appointment. The difference was about $100-$150 dollars. I questioned the reason I was being charged more than what I was quoted and the technician honored the quoted fee. He said he would get back to us when he confirmed the availability of the parts. Needless to say, he never did. I called the main office a total of three separate times over the course of 6 weeks, asking for follow-up and then after being informed that the spare parts weren’t available, I tried to schedule the installation of new HRV unit (quoted cost of $6,000). I wasn’t even able to book an appointment. In the end, I went with another company to install a new HRV but after much wasted time and money chasing down Greenwood. It was pretty bad that I wrote them a check for an estimate appraisal and then couldn’t even get the installation booked until 6 weeks of hounding them for answers. Net-net, this was a bad experience.

Excellent work, professional and not pushy! Very pleased with heat pump-waited too long for one.

Greenwood Heating did a great job installing a new ductless Mini-Split Heating/Cooling system in my home. Sales and installation people were professional, knowledgeable, and were able to schedule around my out-of-town travels. The installation crew did a great job adapting the new system to my 102 year old Craftsman home. They were truly craftsmen in their own right. They even brought in extra installers to get the installation done in time for me to catch a previously schedule flight. They also have a "match any comparable price" guarantee and honored it when I shared a competitor's bid with them (after adjusting for the corners the competitor was cutting that I was unaware of). I'm glad I went with Greenwood. They bent over backward to make sure I was a satisfied customer. I would hire them again in a minute.

Ratnesh was on schedule (called 15 minutes before arrival), introduced himself and provided a business card. After showing him where the gas furnace was, he started work and within 75 minutes did a complete service and inspection.

They were great. I ended up needing more work than I thought, they explained the why’s and what’s. A little pricey, but worth it.

It went well. Knowledgeable installer, competent with details, except reversing connections on input and output pipes on condensing furnace blowing exhaust down into my basement stairwell instead of up away from side of house. Otherwise system works well. Prompt efficient installation.

It was a really good service tech.

Caveat emptor Greenwood-style: It started out well enough; Greenwood was able to send a tech out not long after we spoke on the phone. But it quickly went downhill. The tech was pressuring me nonstop, and said I immediately needed a new thermostat, but that he "only had" the "best" model available, a Honeywell Vision PRO 8000, which he charged me $607 for, plus some other fees, for a total of just under $900. For comparison purposes, here are some estimated costs for a full furnace that I was able to grab from a quick search on "furnace replacements", all of which include thermostats in their pricing: Gas Furnace Brand Estimated Furnace Cost Payne $680 Goodman $695 Coleman $780 York $785 Heil $860 Amana $897 Then, when I called to complain, I got a lecture from their rep about how what I really received was a bargain, because it was Greenwood who installed it, and, well, Greenwood Greenwood Greenwood. But when I asked to speak to either the tech's or the phone rep's managers, was told that all the managers in the entire organization were completely unavailable until next week. Meanwhile, as I was writing up this review, I got a call from Shawn, Greenwood's VP of Customer Experience (so evidently, some managers were available today after all), who told me that the cost to Greenwood for that thermostat is $130. When I asked Shawn questions about how Greenwood arrived at the $607 price for the thermostat, he said that the price includes labor. When I asked what the labor rate was, since time-spent installing was about 20 minutes, suggesting a labor rate of around $1,000 per hour, Shawn said that I was "accusing" and "attacking" him, and that "[I] don't know his business," and he didn't have time to explain it because he was "very busy," and that my questions were "not fair." I think it is fair to ask for an explanation for why something gets marked up from $130 to $607, but Greenwood disagrees, and anyway, as Shawn let me know, they are a "big operation" and have "lots of vans all over the city" and "[I] don't understand Greenwoods business." Meanwhile, no apology, just how Shawn "takes this personally," and was "offended" by my questions. So I told Shawn that I did not want their thermostat, and, to their credit, they did send someone over to uninstall the thermostat quickly, but they left the wires sticking out of my wall, so I'm now in worse shape than I was before calling them. I have no heat, have wires sticking out of my wall, and charges of hundreds of dollars to pay. That's the kind of service you can expect from Greenwood Heating & Air Conditioning.

Excellent from start to finish. Discussed options with sales rep. Got the quote at the meeting and schedule the installation for the next week.

They are wonderful. They installed my air conditioner, they gave me a new furnace and they have done my water heater. They have cleaned out all my duct work. they also service the air conditioning and water heater at the same time. They price may not be very good but they are fabulous.

All aspects from sales to installation were extremely professional. I'm not happy about where they put the electrical shut off on the back of the house, but they told me that was the only option by code; my inspection is the 28th, we shall see! My only regret is that when I went to pay they wouldn't accept the Angie's coupon. If you use them and you should, be sure to give the coupon to the salesmen at the beginning of the process. Not the way to get the best deal, but my argument went unheeded.

They did an excellent job. We live in manufactured housing, so it's a little challenging to put a unit like that in. They did an excellent job. We are in a confined space. I have no complaints at all. I didn't think for the job that they did that it was exceedingly expensive.

Went very well, all the guys (HVAC and Electricians) were very professional and knew what they were doing and did it quite fast. Amazing workmanship and customer service! I would definitely recommend them for any HVAC job.

The day before the promised install date we were contacted to confirm. They expected our job to take 2 days and it did. The 2 person crew (Kyle & Keenan) arrived on time and had almost everything they needed. (One small issue was getting smaller line-hide ducts for covering a line set in a closet - but that was brought to the site on day 2. We had cleared the landscape for the outdoor unit in advance. The crew discussed our desires regarding the placement of the indoor units (master BR and kitchen/family room) and routing of the line sets and things went pretty smoothly. They were easy to work with, respectful of our property and did a total clean up. We had been through one heat-wave (temps>90) and the system has performed beautifully - just what we were hoping for. Our furnace is natural gas and it will interesting to compare costs and performance during the heating season. One thing I kind of expected was a follow-up after a install to see if we had any questions. Nothing - but then we have figured out the controllers (although the printed instructions are not the best) so really no need. Regarding price - as I said were competitive but I had seriously considered doing this job myself using eComfort.com as a supplier. Their equipment costs were substantially lower but I decided it was worth having Greenwood crawl under the house (repeatedly) and take care of the permits, electrical, and starting up the system - plus they claim to offer a 12 year parts and labor warranty.
