Wallace's Stove & Fireplace

Very well overall. Installer (HDC) was great! Stove is very nice. Salesman was very knowledgeable and helpful. My only concern is that I told the first salesman that I would need someone to load the 40# bags of pellets into my car's backseat, He said they could do that. When I went to pay for the stove and pick up 5 bags of pellets, a second man at the desk waited on me. He told me I would have to "bring someone with" me to do the loading. I don't have anyone to do that. I explained what I was told when I signed the papers. He didn't appear pleased, however he found someone to load for me. He said their staff is very busy and they don't have time to do that. I don't know what to expect the next time I go to get pellets. I am able (barely) to pull out and drag the bags into my garage but I can no longer lift 40# bags into the car. I'm a 5' tall female, age 72 and have back and shoulder problems.

The installers were great. They knew what they were doing. They were friendly, helpful, and got it done fast and efficient. There was a little bit of a disconnect between the installers and the store about what you need to do to get ready. For example they told us the wrong information about putting our sheet rock back and they didn't tell us anything about needing a plug in the fireplace for the gas. When we called them and told them about the discrepancies they gave us our money back. They were totally good in terms of fixing the error that happened.

Their price was very competitive and much better than a competing estimate. Their service was very good. The installers did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier with the whole project.

It appears to be a family business-Eric is the Son and then there is his Dad and Mom. At some point I spoke with each of them. I do not want to be rude but I do want to be honest...I'd say work with Eric who gets a A or B overall. In the end I got a good product that fits my fireplace but the overall experience was B-. If or when I need this serviced I do not think I'd go back to Wallace's.

WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH OUR FIREPLACE NOW BUT IT TOOK TWO WEEKS LONGER TO GET HERE THEN WE WERE TOLD AND THEN WHEN THEY WERE INSTALLING IT THEY HAD ORDERED THE WRONG COLOR MANTLE SO WE HAD TO WAIT ADDITIONAL TIME. ALSO WE WERE TOLD THE INSTALLATION WAS PUT IN OUR TOTAL BUT WHEN THEY CAME WE FOUND OUT WE HAD TO PAY THEM AN ADDITIONAL 543.50.
