Thompson Appliance & Svc

We engaged Thompson to install several appliances. They installed a built-in refrigerator freezer, failed to complete the work in the first visit, invoiced us for the work, and charged us another almost $500 trip charge to finish. Furthermore, there was an issue with the cabinets that needs to be resolved which they informed us on a month after the first trip, seemingly to collect two more trip charges. I wanted to echo the other reviews here - Once they got my card number they charged or attempted to charge for every trip without first sending an invoice.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They used my credit card without authorization to charge on my VISA nearly $1,100 in services that were disputed. They used my credit card information that they kept on file from a previous job. The card information should have been discarded, but instead they used it without my permission. Coincidentally, I notice another person has posted the same thing happening to them. Their work was also inflated in price. A job that was to cost $350 was billed to me at $1,100.

Overcharged on the quote for a trip charge. 500.00 trip charge and they couldn't do anything because a circuit board was out. They quoted 170.00 and just took the 500.00 right out of my account and when I called they Amy hung up on me. If they repair Thermador appliance's and the trip charge is 500.00 dollars they could at least let you talk to someone about it knowing that if the user interface is not working they can't even test it. Also the repairman turned everything off and on again and it didn't come back on then asked me do you have another refrigerator and i said no. So the refrigerator was working when he got here and wasn't when he was done.

Thompson repairman was professional & quickly assessed the problem. I paid for service call only. Because Thompson's was booked solid for the last few weeks of the year 2017, and I needed a working oven during that time, I had to ask a handyman friend perform the repair.

Beyond my expectations. Crew arrived on time. Were friendly and courteous. Laid material to protect hard wood and carpeting flooring. Removed the refrigerator (a 4 foot wide, 7 foot high built-in machine) and were gone in about 30 minutes.

Took over 5 weeks. Initial parts purchased by Thompson were incorrect or bad. Took multiple visits to complete. Ended up costing more to do the repair than if I had just purchased a new unit.

Made suggestions on benefits of repair versus price of equivalent new machine. Advice given on how to prevent future problems.

He understood the problem, had equipment to fix it, and finished the job pleasantly and quickly. The price was very reasonable.

It took 15 minutes to remove the refrigerator. They then replaced it into the newly refinished space after the cabinet was refinished. It took 30 minutes. They quoted me a two hour minimum, but were here approximately 1.25 hours. When I asked for a refund for the .75 hour, they said they never quote minimum hours. The value received for the work performed was incredibly inflated. I would never recommend them for an appliance installation or removal. There was no technical expertise required to move this appliance, however they acted like it was equivalent to assembling a nuclear bomb.

Extremely pleased with the service I received and will definately use again.

Contractor is an experienced residential and commercial builder capable of performing a broad range of construction services. Our project was limited to kitchen gas appliance replacement and water filtration equipment. The provider arrived on time, took care to protect our flooring from damage, took his time evaluating the scope of work, offered options available to install the new appliances, offered helpful suggestions about installing the oven and cooktop with the best likelihood of a good outcome at the most reasonable cost of services.
All projects were completed within 6 hours. There were no surprises as may occur in renovation work primarily because the contractor took the time to evaluate the job on site before starting the work. The result was excellent with all 3 new installed utilities working well. This job required experience working with gas lines, plumbing, carpentry, sheet metal (cooktop exhaust renovation), and electric. Contractor demonstrated skill in all areas with excellent communication.
We recommend this firm for construction and renovation projects and will include them again for future residential renovation construction.

Just fair.

I called and Angie's List gave me there number. He was punctual, professional, and knew what he was doing. He just came in and took care of the problem. He knew right off the bat what was wrong with the refrigerator, and fixed it immediately. They were knowledgeable about what they were doing and did a great job.

The two young men who installed a range hood in my kitchen were very professional, quick (30 minutes for installation), clean and business-like. I will definitely use them again and also recommend Thompson Appliance Service to my friends and neighbors.

Nothing but high praise for this company. Very professional in all respects. Thorough estimate up front, cooperative scheduling that worked with our counter top installation in minimizing our kitchen "down time". Electrician/installers efficient and knowledgeable. Always called ahead. Good clean-up. We feel we received really good value for our money.

Thompson's is very professional. They are prompt and honest. Very cooperative working with us and other contractors as we had to remodel our kitchen.

They were very prompt and showed up at the front end of their time window. They were very polite and careful. The first thing he did was put down a cloth to protect the floor. He kept me informed and did a very good job. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again.

Thompson installed a refrigerator, electric range and dishwasher that we had purchased for a kitchen remodel. They actually rolled out red carpet to avoid tracking dirt into our house and even transferred the food from our old fridge into the new fridge, and unloaded the dishes in my dishwasher (oops, I forgot to do that before they came over!). They knew what they were doing, were very professional and efficient, and arrived on time--a real plus in my book. I have no idea if their pricing is competitive (remember when installation was included years ago?), but for the amount of time and expertise, it was worth it. I would definitely recommend Thompson.

The first referral for Thompson's came from a well known appliance store so then I checked them out on Angie's List to confirm their reliability. The service tecnician was very knowledgeable and found that all that was needed was to lubricate the part that allows the downdraft to go up and down. If we would have had to purchase a new unit, then I would have had them install it but fortunatley that wasn't the case.

They did a good job. There was a gas leak after they installed the tap. They came and fixed it promptly. They were prompt and reliable. They did what they said. They weren’t perfect, but in general they did a good job. Their price was very competitive.
