The Plumbing & Drain Company - Go Rooter

About us

Local, family owned business which employs only licensed, journeyman plumbers and does not use subcontractors for any plumbing or drain cleaning related services provided. 45 successful years of experience in the plumbing industry. Because we acquire new customers nearly exclusively through, "Word of mouth," advertising, and retain those customers with our outstanding service and terrific pricing, we don't have to spend the thousands (or even millions) of dollars on marketing that other plumbing companies do. This means that you, our customers, are not paying for all of that unnecessary advertising either. It's also how we are able to provide the great service that we and our customers expect while charging rates that are lower than our competition. You will always know and approve the cost of the job before we begin any work. There will never be any surprises when you see our final invoice. Award winning. Good. Patrick was very nice and professional. The ONLY problem I had is when I went to register the water heater for the warranty, he had it written down wrong so I had to climb around and find the right one. He fixed my toilet flapper as a favor in lieu of not being able to offer a group discount for military or senior.

They cleared the blockage but it came back 6 weeks later. They used a camera next time and still didn't find a reason for the blockage. We ended up hiring a septic person who found the real problem. This company was friendly and fast and did refer us to the company that eventually resolved our problem. Was $350 first visit and $478 second (using camera on a Sunday.) They had to remove toilet both times.

They give us a special price based on that we call them for our rentals. They normally charge a higher price than that.

The initial response took 2 hours. The plumber was courteous on each visit. Initially, he looked into the crawl to determine the location and cause of the water leakage. There was a lot of water, about an inch and a half, in the crawl. He determined that the main water pipe had burst. He then turned off the water and returned to the crawl door, looked in and asked me to open some faucets, which I did. He closed up the crawl and agreed to return the following day to fix the pipe so my restoration company could begin the drying process. A few hours later, during the continuing rain and wind storm, I went to the garage and heard the water still pouring into the crawl. It was 3am. I looked into the crawl and determined the water was coming from a pipe near the back of the house that was spraying toward the front of the house. At that moment, I knew the pipe was not connected to the water delivery system and had to be part of the sump pump and drainage system. There was now 9 inches of standing water in my crawl and it had risen to a level where it was getting the wood frame and structure wet. I went to the garage and found that the only way to stop the sump from pouring more water into the space was to turn off the main breaker to the home. As I was trying to decide what to do, the storm knocked the power out. I turned the breakers off . The plumber returned the following morning and he was an hour late. When I told hint the problem was not the sump, he responded that the pipe was too small to be a dump. After his arrival, he looked in to the crawl and said he would not fix the pipe until I had the water removed. My water and power was off for two full days until I could get an appointment for another vendor to come remove the water. They pumped 4,000 gallons from below my home and secured the pipe so the pump could be restarted. The plumber returned to repair the pipe and was unprepared to do the work. (He called to me from the crawl to bring him a knife so he wouldn't have to go get his from the truck.). When I asked him to unplug the sump so I could keep the power on, he said "how will you plug it back in?" Although I would never want to engage myself in the plumbing trade I have great respect for those who do. However, at a time when I am paying for a service, I should not be made to feel as though I am receiving a favor. That was how I felt throughout my dealings with The Plumbing & Drain Company - Go Rooter. My emergency water issue has escalated from a minor nuisance that I would have taken care of without filing an insurance claim to an involved loss compromising the integrity of my home's structure as a direct result of this company's inaction. I would NEVER recommend them.

The Plumbing & Drain Co removed and replaced 40 hot water heaters in
occupied apartments over the course of 3 weeks. The crews were
punctual, tidy and worked well with the residents and the onsite
property managers. I was very pleased with their work and have added
them to my preferred vendor list.

Called on 8/9/15 regarding a on-emergent leak that I thought might be the hot water heater, and scheduled for the next day.  Was told the plumber would call before arriving, with an arrival window of between 2 and 4.

The plumber did NOT call ahead, but did arrive at 3pm.  I didn't get her name, (sorry about that) but she was very knowledgeable and gave me all my options without any high pressure sale.  I live in a mobile home, so the water heater is elevated about 3.5 feet off the ground.  She couldn't do the job on her own, and no one was available to come out that day.  She called the office and we rescheduled for noon the next day.  Not a problem, since it was not an emergency.  I asked her to please call ahead so I could be sure to be home when she got there.  She said she would.

She arrived the next day on time, but again did NOT call ahead to let me know.  Annoying, but far, far from a deal breaker. The person that was supposed to help her didn't show, but didn't mention it until the job was done, and she installed the tank BY HERSELF.   I was very impressed!   She did an excellent job, cleaned up after herself, was courteous and professional.  The job was done at the price I was quoted and in a timely manner.

I think I've found my long term plumbing service!  In The Plumbing & Drain Co can tell who the plumber was, please give her my thanks for a job well done.

James from The Plumbing and Drain Co showed up at appointment time even though I failed to answer my confirmation call.   Service was thorough.  They identified the source of the leak as a cracked sink vent in the attic space and fixed it within the half hour.   Fair price, quick professional service, no more leaks.   This is the second time I've used their service.

My kitchen sink plugged up about 9:30 PM on 12/22/2014.  Of course I was in the middle of pre-Christmas meal preparation.  This has happened before and I knew that I could not fix the plug.  The next morning (12/24/2014) I went on Angie's List to find a plumber.  Called the Plumbing and Drain Company.  When I spoke with the scheduler and explained my problem, she gulped, and then said that she would try and get me into the noon to 2 slot, and if a plumber came available sooner, they would be sent.

About 2 I got a call telling me that I had not been forgotten, and that I would get the next available plumber.  Problem was the plumber would be coming from either Tukwila, or Kent.  At 2:30 I got the call that the plumber was enroute, but SR167 was at a standstill.  By 4:00 I had two plumbers at my house!.

Clearing the block did not take much time.  What really pleased me was the price.  I have been charged almost $300 for the same service in the past, and on Dec 24th, I was prepared to do the same.  When I was told that the total price was $168.00, I thought the price to be very reasonable.

I was very pleased with the service provided, and the professionalism of the staff that was sent to my house.  I will use this company again in the future.

I called the company at 11AM and the appointment was made for the same afternoon between 2-4PM. Steve called to confirm and arrived around 3PM. He completed the work very satisfactorily and was gone around 30 min after arrival.

Had plumbing and drain co. come out and give an estimate for work and out of 3 estimates Plumbing and Drain Co was the most professional and had most reasonable price. Darryl the plumber who came out for both estimate and work was informative polite and quick. We will only use this company for any plumbing needs in the future.

Everything from making the appointment to completing the job went very well! We had mentioned to Eric that our line was backed up as evidenced by the standing water in our basement. Eric and Randy opened the c/o to access the line and used 80+ feet of snake to clear the issue. These guys are professionals and got the job done in less than an hour. I highly recommend The Plumbing and Drain Company. They are professionals, courteous, and the price was just right!
