Smart PNW

Our house (built-in 1941) has an HVAC system for heating/cooling that we had installed in 2016. However, each year our electric bill was increasing considerably and we were cold in the house. I decided to have an energy audit to see if it would identify the problem. I used HomeAdvisor to request an energy audit. Smart PNW responded quickly and came out the next day with testing equipment including a thermal scanner. James, the owner, is a very friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable person. He explained the tests he was doing and why. He reviewed the results while still at my house and followed it up with a written report. I think the cost was very fair. Based on the results I hired James and his team to fix the issues they found. His team always wore masks and were very considerate in our house. They moved furniture to get access to areas and then moved it back when done. All in all, I cannot imagine a better experience.

James and his team are the best. I was really nervous hiring a company to work in my home during COVID, but he and his team always showed up in masks and with hand sanitizer â without being asked. I felt like they really respected my home and boundaries. Smart PNW was the first company to respond to my inquiry (although I got bids from multiple people), and James made himself available throughout the project whenever I had a question. I had many questions, and he answered each one with patience. I had other companies come out that made me feel like I was wasting their time or they were too busy to listen to what I wanted out of the project. James really listened and helped me come up with a plan I was comfortable with. Not only that, he was very knowledgeable both within the scope of the project, and also about other home project questions I had. I appreciated the free advice! He and his team were respectful and clean, and Iâ m very happy with the project!

My husband and I recently bought a 1914 house, and we wanted to gain a fuller understanding of (1) how energy efficient (or not) the house already was, and (2) what we could do to lower some of our utility bills. James and his crew did a blower door test, a duct leakage test, and a thermal imaging inspection. The results were fascinating and incredibly helpful! The thermal imaging in particular revealed some issues that we never would have known about otherwise. James was professional and knowledgeable, offering clear guidance regarding what our next steps should be to make our home more energy efficient.
