: The good: During the process ( a female health care professional remodeling my first home) Mr. Hempen was easy to contact. He assisted with design ideas and was patient with my questions and with changes regarding the bathroom vanity and door.
He had a "written 5 year warranty" on all work and materials. I had a couple people say he did a good job aesthetically.
The bad: After I had paid in full for the project and moved in, first I found out the closets were not painted white as I had requested multiple times. The washing machine had flooded the utility room, and his plumber told me it was the fault of the "rough-in installer". I was charged for his plumber's service visit, which should have been covered by Mr. Hempen's warranty. I later found out the bathroom and gas stove vents were not properly vented out the roof; instead they were vented into the attic which is not to code. Both Mr. Hempen and his hardwood floor specialist, Mario (who claimed to have 30 years experience) told me the original floors in the dining/living/entryway were White Oak. They were supposed to have installed white oak into the bedrooms and hallway. I recently found out the newly installed floors were RED OAK. I was never informed of this error.
I sent 14 e-mails to Mr. Hempen over the course of 2 years about the various issues. He did not remedy the situations. I called him today, and he angrily told me he was "disappointed" because I was bringing this up to him nearly two years later. He told me his business "was closed". He also said he "knew something was wrong with the floors", but they continued with the installation. I reminded Mr. Hempen that he has a 5 year written warranty on work and materials. He has not responded to me at all. I filed a small claims against Mr. Hempen and he did not show up for mediation.

Todd did two inspections in September 2012 for me. He arrives early and is very knowledgable. I insist my clients be present for the inspection and they all think he is outstanding. He explains everything thoroughly and gives a written presentation with photos of problem areas. I highly recommend Todd.

Crew did a great job. They removed, moved and rebuilt pantry; removed kitchen cabinets carefully so that I could donate them to Habitat for Humanity; removed vinyl and carpeting in 3 rooms and replaced with porcelain tile. The walls and floor weren't square in kitchen so lead carpenter, Wayne, had to spend a great deal of time fitting cabinets in and adjusting doors. Quality of workmanship was excellent, workmen showed up on time and worked full days. They cleaned up debris daily and were very considerate. Todd did a great job with a huge tiling job on both floor and backsplash. The only problem arose after job was finished. My kitchen sink and garbage disposal wouldn't drain. Wayne came out and determined that it was caused by grout that had collected and hardened in the pipes. He took full responsibility for the error made by one of the workmen who rinsed tools in the sink but didn't properly flush the drain. He replaced the clogged section of pipe without delay or charge.

Immaculate Home Services, and their entire crew were awesome! They were professional, courteous, skilled and the best part was they showed up every day at 8 and worked very hard until 5 in the evening. They rarely took a break, and were focused on getting the job done. They respected our home and were a pleasure to work with. They also explained every purchase and what they hoped to accomplish each day. They are committed and are a company that will continue to have a good reputation because they do a great job and are consistent in quality and workmanship. They were very helpful in taking pictures for our insurance of the work that had been done incorrectly so that it was documented and made it easier to reclaim the monies for the previous contractor's poor work.
