I am new to riding, starting in July this year, though I rode 4000 miles this season. My mentor recommended Steve. When I asked him to place me on his schedule, he first inspected my bike front to rear, top to bottom. He noted all he would do as he saw them and he clearly explained each point. He made it clear that there were two full tuneup rates, one with valves, one without. After he made his inspection, he said, "And there is something I really don't like." He led me to the back wheel and showed me that the rear axle had walked in about a half inch, exposing inside theads. He removed the axle nut with his hand. I was both grateful and appalled. He immediately had his mechanic bring the bike into the shop for this repair. THIS WAS A REALLY GOOD THING!! I told him that the tires were recently replaced and he said that the company was known to him for poor workmanship. After the work was completed, he explained everything that he did. The bike had been polished with a clean cloth. There were no greasy fingerprints or handprints, even on the running gear. Right before I left, his mechanic made the point of telling me that the idle adjustment might change and to bring it back for adjustment. Please consider Steve when making plans for service on your bike. By the way, he did not charge me to repair the axle.
