MODERN BUILDERS INC

Modern Builders, Inc. was founded by Dana Anderson in February of 1954. Throughout the remainder of the ’50′s and into the 60′s he and his family bought several parcels of land in north Tacoma near Point Defiance Park and built neighborhoods, along with a custom home now and then. During the Columbus Day storm of 1962, Dana and his son-in-law, Glen, were recruited to the unique area of restoration. Modern Builders, Inc. restored and repaired many of the homes damaged by the high winds and driving rains. In the mid 1970′s, Modern Builders, Inc. entered into the area of light commercial with such projects as office and retail space. The new millennium saw them extend their commercial work to the area of low-rise steel buildings. As a full-service General Contractor, Modern Builders, Inc. can fulfill all the necessary services to accommodate the needs of the owner, in Pierce, South King, Kitsap, Thurston, and other surrounding counties. Modern Builders, Inc. is one of the oldest continuously family-owned construction companies in the Puget Sound area currently being managed by its third generation. This longstanding service in an ever-changing industry is a credit to its quality of work and the integrity of the people who stand behind it.
