Milgard Windows & Doors
About us
Milgard Windows & Doors is a vertically integrated window and patio door manufacturer. We make our own insulated glass units, produce our own vinyl components, and make our own fiberglass frames. To ensure top quality from start to finish, Milgard begins by precisely controlling our vinyl compound formulation to withstand harsh climate conditions. We extrude our own frame material, and fabricate all vinyl windows and doors to order, giving us the tightest control over quality. Our fiberglass windows and doors receive the same level of attention. Almost all our frame materials are manufactured internally to provide the highest level of consistently high quality. Milgard's commitment to innovation has made us a leader in all aspects of window technology. This includes materials, manufacturing techniques, components, glass, energy efficiency and even our warranty. At Milgard Windows & Doors, expertise comes from over 50 years of experience. In 1962, Gary Milgard started Milgard Manufacturing with the goal of offering quality mill-finished, aluminum-framed windows. In 1968, Milgard Manufacturing expanded to produce sliding glass doors. In 1989, the first Milgard® vinyl windows were introduced. Over the years, the company expanded to offer wood, aluminum, vinyl and fiberglass windows and patio doors. Milgard Windows & Doors now operates at 13 locations in Canada and the United States.

While he was outside, he noticed two windows on our third story that had broken seals (which we had never noticed). He took a look at them from inside to confirm it was the case. Sure enough! We now have 2 new replacements on their way (at no cost) and our windows are at least 10 years old!
We would never use any other company than Milgard for windows. They stand by their products and go the extra mile for their customers! Thank you Milgard!
hired to clean my newly installed windows noted that there was
significant silicone on my Milgard windows. This silicone spray does not
come off the glass without significant labor and materials cost.
Windows were not coming clean with a typical washing of soap and water.
The windows would come clean after many hours using Goof Off and a
razor. After a month long wait for my appointment, the service tech
promised me that he would look at the manufacture date of my windows and
compare to the date of equipment cleaning in the plant, which he said
had just recently been done. The technician did not follow up on this
issue, other than receiving a photographed list of products that can be
used to clean the windows and a brochure on condensation. It appears
that my windows were made at a time when equipment needed to be cleaned
and as a result I have had windows installed in my home that are coated
with silicone that is difficult to remove. Needless to say, I am
disappointed with the quality of craftmanship Milgard has produced and
with Milgard's lack of response to my issue.
I posted this issue
in early October at the Milgard website. In response, Milgard offered to
pay for a window cleaning. I submitted an invoice on October 25th and
received a prompt response that I would be reimbursed. Two months later,
I still have not received reimbursement.
On 11/19/2012 my stationary livingroom window began to leak very bad to the point where it was soaking a dish towel in 20 minutes or less. I called MIlgard warranty department and they said they could not get out to look at it until 11/30/2012. I advised that this was not an acceptable amount of time to wait and any damages (wood, drywall, carpet, etc) would be their fault. A tech was sent out that day (after I complained) and when they got to the house they tried to say that the leak was around the frame not the window and that this is not covered. We tried to explain that it wasn't leaking before they came out and replaced glass so it was their fault it was leaking. Not only that but there is no water damage to the wood around the window and if it had in fact been leaking there would have been damage since they put the windows in back in 2005 (I believe this was the year it was built) when the house was built. They told us there was nothing they could do and left.
