Hunter's Tree Service

This is the second time I hired Hunter's to remove a tree. They arrived as promised and removed a large cherry tree. The debris was removed and the stump ground down as agreed. This is the second time I have hired Hunter's and I would recommend them.

The work was performed exactly as quoted. Paula is a certified arborist and KNOWS HER STUFF. She is very pleasant and professional. She made a full assessment and handed us a written bid before she left. We were so impressed with her knowledge and professionalism that we didn't even get another bid, but from previous experience knew she was within the right range for price.
The crew of four worked here for three full days and the bulk of the work was to take down four huge evergreens ranging in height from sixty to eighty feet. They all obviously knew exactly what they were doing and were very aware of their personal safety as well as the protection of our property. One employee sensed there might be an issue with an adjacent property owner, and he immediately conferred with Paula who talked to me and all was well. Again, we appreciated this crew that was so aware of their surroundings.
They have every proper piece of equipment from safety harnesses to saws to trucks and chippers.
This was one of those rare instances when we contracted with a professional organization and that company came through with every single expectation of ours. We will not even consider ever calling anybody else for tree work.

Nice company to deal with. On time, quick and professional. They quoted the work, asked me to be at home when they showed up, went over what I'd like done and trimmed the tree. Short and sweet, looks great, I'll call them again.

We own several small shopping centers. One center had two trees that our landscaper said we needed to remove. Our landscaper gave us a bid of $700.00 + tax to remove the trees. I decided to get some more bids to remove the trees. I pulled the names of several tree people from Angie's List and called them for bids. I received bids from $220.00+tax to $2400.00+tax. Wow, what a range. Paula Hunter was by FAR the most professional. She is an arborist and would only do what is "right" for the trees. I respect that. She agreed the trees needed to be removed. I asked her to "dig" up the root system. After review of the property she told me they could not "dig" up the root system. They would cut the trees as close to the ground as possible and we would need to treat the stumps with full strength round-up. She gave us good directions on what and how to do this. They arrived at the shopping center on time, removed, chipped and cleaned up in 30 minutes. Her men were extremely efficient. We were there with our full strength round up and applied it within the hour, which is what Paula told us to do.
We will use this person again.

I had contacted 3 tree services via email. Hunter's was the only business to reply and they did so within the day. The first email was to say that my message was received, confirmed the address, location and kind of tree. Two days later I found a detailed bid, with wood removal options, taped to my front door. I wasn't able to set-up the removal for a few months. When I did call, the bid was on file and we discussed a few service options. We scheduled the day and she gave me a two hour time range for arrival.
The day of the removal the crew arrived withing the agreed upon time range. The quickly surveyed the area, got the equipment ready, and removed the tree. I was very happy with the service from beginning to end and would highly recommend Hunter's Tree Service. My only complaint is with the crew's personal interactions, that often occurred while I was part of the conversation. The company is owned/run by a family. The husband and wife were both on the crew, along with their son and another man. Believe me, I understand that working with a spouse can be difficult after a long day but I don't want to hear the bickering.
Overall Hunter's Tree Service is awesome and I will be calling them again for any tree removals and pruning.

The work was done over 4 years ago, don't remember details - except they removed limbs, they were careful and didn't damage anything, removed the debris, were polite, etc.
And we liked them well enough to call them again this past December (2012) for an evaluation on the same tree after it was damaged by the installation of a new septic field.

Great! They came cut tree down in exact area that did not obscure my driveway. Cut all the tree into manageable rounds that we could later split for firewood. Removed all the limbs too for us.

Jason and crew did a very professional job from start to finish. Their cost was the lowest of four bids and I am certain I got the best crew of the bidders. They took down a very ugly old poplar very near the houses. They left with the yard and street clean and neat.
