They told me the bottom of the radiator broke and was leaking radiator fluid in the transmission, so they were going to flush it out.
They didn't really try to check for anything else to see if I needed other maintenance and things done. They asked me what I thought I needed to have done and I am not a mechanic, I do not know, that is why I went to them. There service was just the bare minimum and they did not try to go above and beyond.
They are 15 miles away and you're basically on your own when it comes to trying to get your car to them. They do not come to get the vehicles and they told me their "loaner cars" were all tied up and didn't try to help me in any way when it comes to having a temporary vehicle while they were working on mine.
They just seemed to act like they were the only mechanic shop that services Acuras in the area, so they didn't need to worry or be bothered with customer service.
I've gone to Hinshaw's for several years for oil changes and other services on my Acura and always receive excellent service. They treat customers respectfully and do a good job. It does seem expensive, but that's probably because of the car, not the service provider. It's about $90 for a basic oil change but I took my car to Jiffy Lube once and it was also $90 there (and you're sitting in a greasy waiting room and they were only able to change one filter because they didn't have the other one in stock). So I'll continue to take my car to Hinshaws even though it's not the closest place I could have service done.
While I was there for my oil change, my sales rep came over to talk to me and I ended up leaving with a new car! Not the plan and not necessary, but he made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
Top marks to both sales and service.
