Amazing. Half the price of the dealership using genuine Honda parts. Stopped in afternoon before to ask for appt, indicated I was in hurry due to trip and Hawk scheduled me at 9 the next morning, despite being very busy. Job finished in 2.5 hours, ahead of estimated time.
I have used Hawk for 18 years and he has always amazed me with the quality of his work, his integrity and his reasonable pricing.

Always very honest, reasonably priced, and on-time. If he worked on classics like my recently purchased International Harvester, I would take it there too!

Awesome service:
- 1. Was quoted $700 by my regular mechanic. Heard about Hawk's Asian Auto and was quoted $425.
- 2. He did exactly what he said he would do, for the quoted price, and in the time frame that he promised.
- 3. You should the wall of his small office. It is covered with and quot;Thank Youand quot; notes from many of his customers.
We have three Toyotas and a Honda. All of the future service on each of those cars will be at Hawks Asian Auto Repair, because I believe them to be honest and fair (as well as very competent).

Hawk could have easily just performed the job I had thought was necessary but instead identified the real issues and only did the work that really necessary to do. His honesty is something that is all too rare in the auto repair industry. The truck is back on the road and working well. I won't hesitate to use Hawk's Asian Auto Repair in the future.

If other auto repair shops operated the way Hawk does business, maybe hating mechanic shops wouldn't be such a cliche fact of life. If Angie's List offered an A+ rating, Hawk would get it.
My 2006 Subaru Outback has had a slow head gasket leak for a few months that we needed to wait til tax return time to deal with. After a call to all Subaru dealerships in King County, the estimate for replacing the head gasket and spark plugs (bare bones, no other services) was running $2,200-2,500. After calling 5-7 non-dealership shops, the estimate was running $1,400-2000 with the cost pretty much directly correlating to the online rating of the shop; i.e. 2 -star shop = $1,400, 4-star shop = $2,000.
So when Hawk quoted just over $1,200 AND was unanimously well reviewed I decided to take a chance. I will take both of our cars back to Hawk's Asian Auto from now on for any major services.
Hawk finished the repair exactly when he said he would, was friendly and honest, performed more work than was initially asked for after finding a couple issues, yet still came in ~$20 UNDER his original estimate. Makes me feel like the shady mechanic.
BOTTOM LINE...I generally don't bother writing reviews but I will recommend Hawk to my friends and review him positively on other sites as well.
POSITIVES:HonestFriendlyAccurateLow cost AND quality serviceCame in just under his original estimate~$1,000 less than dealership quoteLowest quote among non-dealershipsPerformed several additional services at no cost
NEGATIVES:He's ~20 miles from my home.

The job was horrible. Could not shift into first gear. Hawk's solution was to "just start out in 2nd gears, is ok, is ok" W**? I was in a hurry so I was having wishful thinking and thought the linkage would get better over time. Not true. Went to a tranny place and they said I needed to get the linkage back from the old tranny. Luckily Hawk saved the tranny (he is too lazy to throw it away as his place looks like a junkyard). I get the tranny (I am being nice so far as I want my old tranny back for parts to take to a REAL mechanic) and then I started to convey my disatisfaction with his service. He says "you pay, you pay so you must be happy" W**? Since I was in a hurry and paid for my service he thinks that our deal is acceptable? Anyway, things start heating up (he is getting mad, I am getting mad) then he says "Ok , you go get car and I fix" ARE YOU F'IN KIDDING ME? You think I would EVER let HAWK touch another one of my vehicles again. I promptly conveyed that to him of which he got REALLY MAD and started yelling at me to "GET OUT" Obviously he has grown accustomed to disgruntled customers and his strategy is to blow up in anger and try and "scare" the customer. I am no stranger to rage. I really don't think he expected my response (sorry if I scared you HAWK but you deserve every word I said to you). Anyway, in his defense (I do have empathy in me), he is the CHEAPEST you will find for non complex jobs. You know, jobs that don't required much mechanical skill (e.g. changing oil, changing spark plugs, timing belt, water pump) but DO NOT go to him for anything complex as HE WILL SCREW IT UP. Then blame you for paying. ADVICE: GO TO A REAL MECHANIC IF YOU HAVE A COMPLEX SERVICE NEEDED. Also, remember that your vehicle will be there twice to three time longer than he tells you as he has a Pile of suckers lined up to work on.

This is the most honest company I have ever worked with. On the brake replacement, he tried to save me money by on replacing the brake pads. He didn't think the brake rotors needed to be replaced. After a few hundred miles, the car started to shake and I took my car back in for maintenance. He said that he made a bad call on not replacing the rotors, and replaced them free of charge.

Arranged for 90,00 mile service over the phone. Hawk was very helpful and allowed me to drop off car before work, pay over phone, and pick up after closing hours. It is very helpful that he is located on the bus line. He suggested the timing belt replacement as the car was just over 100k. Car ran great after I picked it up, no problems. I had to call a few times to see when the job was done and to arrange payment, but it was all done before I left work at 5 pm.

HAWK HAS BEEN OUR PREFERRED MECHANIC FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, BECAUSE OF HIS HONESTY AND INTEGRITY. HE WILL TELL US IF THERE IS A JOB THAT HE CANNOT DO AND WHERE WE SHOULD GO. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN HE HAS NOT CHARGED US FOR LABOR, WHEN HE WAS UNABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM. HAWK IS REALLY SOMEONE YOU CAN TRUST TO HAVE YOUR BEST INTEREST IN MIND.
