Mr. Johnson came out and gave me an estimate to grind a stump located on
a mound approximately 20 inches high. I asked that the stump be ground
down 6 inches below the level of the lawn. The estimate for grinding was
$250.00. Removal of the waste was estimated at $100.00.
The
work was performed on the agreed upon date. Mr Johnson came by later for
payment and told me there was not enough waste to merit paying him
$100.00 to remove it. He suggested I rake the area smooth, and that it
would settle approximately 30%. After settling, he said I would have 6
to 8 wheel barrow loads to spread in flower beds, low areas in the lawn,
etc. A sum total of 1 hour's work for a $100.00 savings.
