It went very well. Great peace of mind that we have safe, upgraded electrical circuits in most of the house.
Description of Work: Rewired our basement living area. Will hire to do wiring for kitchen remodel. Would hire to rewire upstairs if I can convince my wife of the benefits of removing all knob and tube as well as grounded circuits. Wish I had hired Cliff to install new panel and upgrade but i hired Emerald State Electric and was to some degree disappointed. The owner told me his technician who did our work was let go because of other customer complaints. He has offered no other compensation for shoddy work except his excuse that he hired someone and failed to supervise his work. I do not recommend Emerald State Electric but do recommend Cliff at GG Electric.

I am really impressed at the knowledge and ability these guys have, they arrive on time, work hard, accomplish great feats for reasonable rates, and are pleasant while they're at it. I am very happy with their work and work ethic. During a total remodel of a bathroom, the Contractor, Friendship Builders, brought these guys in to do the Electrical portion of the work. Having total faith in the Contractor?s abilities and sensibilities, I knew the guys he would bring into my home would be smart and decent fellows. I am happy to say these guys did not disappoint. Although initially they only intended on working on the new circuits to be installed, they readily determined that the panel was unsafe due to manufacturing mistakes, and encouraged me to Google the panel name to learn of its danger, which I did. I was really impressed that the company Owner spent about 90 minutes that evening assessing my electrical system to determine what needed to be upgraded, how to incorporate a panel upgrade into our Contractor?s remodel plans and schedule, and how to help me get the most bang for my buck while they were updating our service (once again, thanks in part to having great guys on the various crews who accommodate each other and work well together) and the Owner Cliff left us that first evening with an action plan to discuss, and the next time I saw him 2 days later he had a detailed bid in hand that reflected our conversation and was ready to go to work. We agreed to the panel upgrade as a necessary expense, and asked for a few additional outlets and some lighting for the back stairs, all of which came in within his original rough bid for the panel. That same day they began preparing for a panel upgrade, doing what they could in advance to minimize electrical downtime for all. We asked them to accommodate our Halloween holiday schedule that day so they worked hard in the early day and left early enough to not interfere with the Festivities. This meant in order to keep other jobs on track at my house and others they would need to work most of Saturday, which they did, without extra charge. By mid afternoon Saturday, a new panel and grounding wires were installed, and within moments of them finishing up, the house was back to life as usual, as though they were never here? except the wonderful flood of light on the back stairs reminds us how much safer we are now, thanks to these guys. The Owner Cliff and his second in command Scott are both very knowledgeable guys, and they have been working together for decades. There is a synergy between these two, each having strengths that compliment the others?, and their wiring is done with artisanship, with the extra step taken to put the Craftsman?s touch of elegance on such a burly task. This winter, if you see our lights burning brightly, please know that we count our lucky stars regularly, and amongst those we will be thanking are Cliff and Scott T. of GG Electric for helping this Old Home to welcome us back to its hearth each night. I would happily have them back for further work, and trust them to keep my family safe, and help this house see another hundred years. Thanks guys! ~
