Overall I was very pleased with the technicians performance and advice came in handy on lowering my electric bill.

They were prompt in returning phone call to schedule appointment.  Showed up on time, very professional.  He detected a few problem areas and went over list with me regarding improvements.  This particular service is really about weatherproofing your home and noting areas where you can improve the insulation.  Left a "to do" list for me to follow up with, very helpful.

This went very well. It was very easy to make the appointment, and the gentleman that came to do the inspection was thorough and very careful about not bringing the insulation from the attic down. He gave us a detailed analysis of all issues that he found, and we discussed the possibility of replacing the old insulation with new one, but did not come to a decission. Overall, we were very satisfied with the deal, and especially with the level of the service that we got from this vendor.

SBI did an energy audit as part of an Angie's list deal.  They used a
tool that measured heat loss.  The person who did the audit did a good job.
For the audit, They used a tool that measured heat loss and did a visual inspection of the attic and the crawlspace.
  The person who did the audit  did a good job of explaining what he found and what it meant in terms of
insulation. He also did a visual inspection of my attic.  He took  pictures of my attic so that I could see what he had found.   He
indicated I needed new insulation and screens placed on soffits as birds had entered the attic and were nesting there.  He also inspected my  crawl space and said that the area was damp and that insulation was
falling down.  The cover over the entrance to the crawl space needed to
be replaced and secured.  
The work was done in 2 phases, removal and replacement.  Scheduling was fine.  They needed to postpone
one day , but let me know ahead of time.  The installation workers however spoke very
little English and communication was difficult. As far as the work, it
appeared to be good although I have not noticed much difference in my
heating bills. Clean up was fairly good, but I had to do some additional
vacuuming around the access window and  pick up outside the entrance to my crawl
space.  I discovered that the workers had missed some soffits and they
returned to fix those.  I was concerned that workers replaced some 
soffits by going up on the roof instead of using a ladder, presumably to
save time.

Everything went very smoothly.  Paul showed up on time, was friendly and professional.  More importantly he clearly knew his stuff, his report was thorough and he had many good suggestions on making our nearly 100 year old house more energy efficient.

I contacted SBI by email requesting an estimate. I received telephone response within one hour. Scduled appointment for the following week. Paul arrived on time. He spent nearly an hour crawling under our house inspecting the duct system. When he was finished with the inspection, he prepared the written bid. He explained the bid to me using photos of our crawl and answered all of my questions satisfactorily.

I contacted the office the following morning. Elizabeth scheduled the work for the next day. I was so pleased to to have the work scheduled that quickly.

The technician showed up the next day on time. He completed the work in less than six hours. The job was done exactly as I expected.

I was not only completely satisfied with the work, I was impressed with the friendliness, professionalism, and competence of each of the three persons with which I interacted.

They came out the next day after I bought the Big Deal - This was very informative - I was able to see where all my air leaks are, and some of them I have been able to fix myself.  I am hoping to have them come out and add some insulation when I have the funds.  I felt no pressure, and am very pleased.

I received a multipage form filled out with audit information and recommendations - he did not solicite any work for his company.The infrared camera was very interesting to view and let us know where air is leaking in.

SBI did a fabulous job, both with my energy audit and the insulation and sealing work, mostly in my crawlspace.  They were knowledgeable and professional, kept me updated as to status as the work was proceeding, and in general wonderful to work with.  The office gave me reminder calls prior to appointments, and also sent a thank you note afterward.  The guys did quality work, were careful about my floors and  about cleaning up afterwords, and I was extremely pleased with the results - I loved the fact that the estimate was extremely detailed and descriptive about just what they were going to do, the materials used and what the cost was.  They use all green materials, which is important to me, and I would highly recommend them to anyone doing a home energy audit or insulation/weatherization work!

SBI's salesman and building performance analyst, Paul, is very knowledgeable, and he generously shared his information with us. He patiently explained and answered my questions. We agreed on the scope of the work that SBI would do on our house and on the small remodeling project (a separate tiny cottage).
The work was completed in a very timely fashion, less than two weeks from initial contact. The installers stayed late to complete all the work in one day, and cleaned up well after their work. We noticed immediately a difference in the warmth inside the house. We are also pleased that SBI provides a non-toxic alternative to polyurethane foam insulation, and fiberglass batting.
After the insulation was installed, we noticed that our telephone service was intermittent, and wondered if it could be related to somehow to the new attic insulation. My husband emailed  SBI to ask if that might be a possibility. They immediately scheduled two workers to come and investigate the problem. The two thoroughly checked out the phone lines and fixed the problem even though it did not seem to be related in any way to the insulation. We did not expect that level of service at all! We felt that SBI had gone above and beyond reasonable service to provide us with exceptional service.

It was a good install. The job was done good overall.

One of my best experiences of any company I have worked with through Angies List.  As a real estate agent, I was interested in not only finding out more about my own home's energy efficiency, but I was also interested in learning more about the audit, in general, to determine if it might be of use to my home buyers.  The SBI rep, Paul, was so well spoken and knowledgeable about the testing, the instruments used, and the ways in which the audit could be utilized that I truly thought he was the owner of the company.  In that I was mistaken, and the real owner of the company should consider himself blessed to have such a dedicated star employee.  After running the tests, Paul walked through the house with me, showing me where the areas of leakage were and suggesting improvements and corrections to improve the overall energy efficiency of my older 1920's home.  I learned a lot and was most impressed with his professionalism.  After hearing of some of his findings in other properties, I am convinced that this type of audit could be very worthwhile for many buyers prior to purchasing a home, much like a building inspection.  I will be recommending this service in the future.

This is the first time I have used them.  They seemed really good.  I was happy with them.  They were a little late.
