They had a huge chipper and there were three people. They were so efficient and did a fabulous and I am very, very happy. Dan and his brother Tony, own the company. Dan came and worked with two excellent assistants and they did an excellent job. They had their blower to not leave anything that I had to do, as far as the property needs and the job being done. So, I am very pleased. It was quoted to us for what they had done for $1,400, and then with tax it came to $1541.40. They came the 18th, 2 days ago and there were three people. They came at 8:30 and they left about about 2:30.
Their price was very reasonable. He had someone else do our trees for many, many years and the man has gotten older, in his 50?s. The man would take such a long time, like maybe a week and a half to do what they did in one day. I am very pleased that we had such good service. That is what I noticed with what we paid our previous tree pruner person, was just about the exact same as far as the $1,400 goes and then of course there is tax. I would recommend them.
They cut down a 30 year old cedar tree that was in a tight spot - right up next to a fence and within feet of above ground wires. I was left with beautiful fireplace length logs and no mess. Cleanup was on-going throughout the process. They made sure that nothing ended up in the neighboring yard. I would hire Canzler Tree Service again.
I would have to say these guys were the consummate professionals and knew their business inside and out. They came out for an onsite estimate a few weeks prior to survey what they were going to be doing and give a free quote. They set a price of $1300 + tax for:
1) Cutting down of both Poplars
2) Grinding one of the Poplar stumps (the other was in a marsh and not accessible for the stump grinder), so I poured stump killer on the newly exposed trunk. Also, grind a 2rd stump from a previous removal years ago, up to 1.5 feet below ground and leave the stump grindings
3) Shred/grind and haul away all the branches
4) Leave all of the cut up limbs and trunk in piles no bigger than 18-20" (inches) long (not firewood size) as pieces still need to be cut down to size by us to be used a firewood.
5) Clean up the area when done and leave similar to how they found it
They showed up on time at 0800 with a crew of 3 (a 4th showed up a bit later), a commercial tree shredder, dump truck and a pickup they used to lower larger limbs and branches to the ground safely with a rope. One guy climbed the tree and topped (cut the tree from the top as he slowly climbed down) as the others picked up branches and shredded them. Once the 1st tree was bare and only had it's large 40' high trunk left, they hooked a rope over the top part and used it as a fulcrum. They used it as part of a pulley system to safely lower the branches and limbs of the 2nd Poplar (they were 20 feet apart). It was like a choreography with how they moved and knew what each person was supposed to be doing... Amazing to watch!
Safety was the utmost priority with all of them. You have to be, when climbing 40' in the air with a 3' long chainsaw, while tied into a tree your cutting down and your fellow workers are below you with falling limbs and branches.
Once the 2nd tree was topped all the way to the stump, they cut and felled (chopped down) the 1st Poplar (the one used as a base for the pulley assist) and used chainsaws to cut it up in place. As some of the workers were still cutting up the limbs and trunks into more manageable sized pieces, they began to grind the stumps. The machine made quick work of the stumps (even on the freshly cut poplar) and left a nice pile of wood shavings and dirt for us to use as a mulch in other areas of the yard. They cleaned up and were ready to head to the next job on their schedule by 1215.
They did all of that in just about 4 hours, which shows they are efficient, experts in what they do and very professional! I would highly recommend them to anyone and would call on them again if we needed other services. One of the best parts is they allowed us to make payments. Didn't sign anything, just asked before hand if that was alright. So, we'll make 3 payments of $474 and be paid off in 3 months. That was awesome! They don't take credit cards, but are willing to work with you on how to pay...which for us was a blessing.
You don't stay in business for 60 years, if you're not willing to help out the customers... to earn their business!
Thanks Canzler
Brian and Christina Y.
On the Arborvitaes that had gotten away from us, they cut out the branches that had been bent over and mis-formed from the Ice/Snow storm of early 2012.
These are the type of people I like to work with, all down to earth. All 4 worked like a well oiled machine. I had other jobs to do, and I let them do theirs.
