The bathroom looks great.  We did have one remaining problem, but Dan came out the day after we called him and fixed it that very morning.  Work was completed on budget.

Showed up for quote prepared to go into crawl space. Gave quote in terms of individual line items so I could choose. Appointment to do the work he showed up on time and worked until finished, 3 - 4 hours as I can recall. He was not 'chatty' without invitation, one thing that bothered me of past workers. He was realistic in his estimate. Rat proofed gaps in crawl space to siding with 'wire' and ?mix which fills in and deters critters. Also helpful in knowledge I did inquire of for another trip - repairs of fence, door hardware, etc. He comes across as confidant and capable. Plan to use again in the next month.

The owner of AHR, Dan Weimer, came to give me an estimate when he said he would. The general nature of the work is describe above. More specifically, it required cutting into existing plumbing, removing the old plumbing, soldering new copper pipes, cutting and reinforcing floor joists in order to move the toilet drain, installing the new drains and installing a header where the partial wall was removed. He called me back that afternoon with an estimate and I asked him to do the work. Dan arrived when he said he would. He was diligent, meticulous and professional (always on time and cleaning up after himself). He got the plumbing done first, which took a couple of days. Dan put up the wallboard (with the help of one other person) and then taped and mudded. Dan did three coats of mud, including a top coat. This took another 3 or four days (not complete days, as he only needed to be here long enough to get the mud on, come back to sand and put on another coat and so forth). He still needs to come back to install the toilet and sink, which he said that he would do after I finished the painting. (I may also ask him to install the rest of the shower kit if he is willing to do this additional work. This was not part of his bid.) Dan did an excellent job with his work. I will use him again on any additional construction projects that I might do to our house.

We were very pleased with all of Dan's (Advanced Home Repair) work. We initially had him come to give us an estimate on replacing some siding damaged by a water leak and remove old gutters on a third floor balcony, and make any repairs needed. He had to work around the rainy days we kept having, but he was always here when he said he would be. He did such a good job on these two areas, I asked if he would recommend someone to finish painting the exterior of our home (we had painted the lower levels, but didn't want to do the higher levels). Dan said that he did painting and gave me an excellent estimate for doing the painting as long as I supplied the paint. He also said there would be an additional charge for any siding they had to replace. As Dan inspected our siding, he identified problem spots and what needed to be replaced and what should be done so that it would last longer after it was replaced. He did an excellent job, and kept within budget. But after the paint dried, he thought it needed another coat and we all agreed. I purchased the additional paint and he gave it a second coat at no additional charge. My mother has her house next to ours and we were painting it ourselves (it is little and only one story). I had a question about an opening to the crawlspace that might let critters into the crawlspace. I asked Dan what he would recommend I do. He told me and then volunteered to go into the crawl space to make sure it would work and that we didn't have any critters down there already. I told him he didn't have to, but he said no problem. He got into the crawlspace and we didn't have a critter problem, but he discovered that we were missing all the insulation except for the area around the crawlspace entrance. Seventeen years ago, we had remodeled the house and part of that included having insulation installed in the crawlspace. Obviously the inspector who passed the house had not looked an further than the entrance to say it was done. We have gotten the insulation put in, thanks to Dan taking the time to crawl down there just to be helpful! He never charged us for any of his helpful hints or his time looking and answering our questions. We expect the heating bill to go down on Mom's house! Thanks to Dan. Needless to say, we are very please with all of Dan's work!

It was a big job and hard to do. They cut out the bad spots of wood and did a great job replacing the damaged area's. I'm very pleased!
