ADT Security Services

This is an updated review. I requested 2 touchpads pads, got one. Apparently the install was too difficult. But I was still charged for the complete installation. The Sales Representative was supposed to cancel the service at my prior residence, it never happened.  I have had to make 5 follow up phone calls and the service still has not been cancelled. I am presently looking into cancelling this contract and moving on to another security company.

The basic quality of the equipment seems adequate, except that the
central alarm unit generates a loud, piercing audio alert in the middle
of the night roughly every two months.  The late night alerts are
generated for several nights running.  Fortunately, I found the system
manual and now know how to disable the audio alerts after the first
night.  The alarm panel displays the  message "communications error". 
I've called ADT twice about this problem.  Both times, ADT customer
service had nothing useful to suggest.  I requested a service call, but
the technician didn't find any problems.  He just replaced the batteries.
ADT's automated voice response system is confusing and it is extremely difficult to reach an actual human.  This is true even if you are calling their sales department to purchase additional equipment or services.
On a positive note, when our alarm was accidentally tripped a few years ago, ADT did respond appropriately by calling our designated phone numbers before contacting the authorities.

I told them I had to be somewhere at 445 today, so I asked them if they could show up before their expected 2-4pm time frame, and were able to come at 1:30. They even provided extra decals to put around the house. They were very professional. It was a great experience.

He was right on time, professional and polite. I sleep better now, I don't get up as much throughout the night checking on noises. I feel a real sense of security having it in my home.

They had low prices in my area. They were punctual.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced over the phone.  DO NOT fall into their sales trap. The company uses a lot dealers to sell it but really bad customer service because the people selling it to you NEVER would care what happens after you bought it. I hope Angie's list would not block my report just because ADT is a big company.

Met the guy at a home show. He came and we decided to move forward with the new security system. The install took twice a long, but it all works great.

They have been wonderful. They are a little pricey, but they are worth it. They have been very responsive, and the technicians are prompt and courteous. They return phone calls and are very communicative. We couldn?t be happier with their service and will continue to use them.

I called them and the technician drove on a Saturday from Vancouver Washington and he had the installer and contract with him. He spent several hours with me and also said that he would install it right now if I wanted him to. Unfortunately it was 4 in the afternoon and he would have had to be there until 10, so I asked him to come on Monday. He came on Monday and he needed a different part, so he came back the following Saturday and spent hours testing it. The service has been phenomenal and he has also offered to come at any time if we want to change the configuration or add new contents.
