The tank to the toilet was not secured properly, and they had to come back out and re-do it. There was a seam where the vanity was suppose to be flush with the wall that was a 1/4" off. They had to come back out and put a bunch of caulking in there to do that. After that, I had a real bad taste in the water, and I think it was something to do with the pipes they used. He was suppose to replace a plate to the light switch and the plate he brought with him didn't fit. He put the old one back up that he had cracked and it was dirty. I don't know what he was thinking. When he came back out he said there was nothing he could do about it, and that they didn't even have it in the store. The price was a little on the high side. Their responsiveness was good. It was carelessly done and was unprofessional.

I found McLendon Hardware on Angies List, read the reviews then called to discuss adding an Access door to my garage (new install not a replacement). They advised on door options, directed me to a website to review and once a door was agreed on they sent Terry out to review the project and then provided a final quote. The price was reasonable, although more than expected, but upon review of the quality of the door, it was worth it. Two weeks later the door arrived and they called to schedule installation. Terry came back the next morning with the door and completed the project in approx 4 hours. He explained the install step-by-step, and was thoroughly professional and helpful pointing out the different safety and construction features. He left the work site cleaner than when he arrived. We are extremely pleased with McLendon Hardware and with Terry and recommend them without reservation.

Most of the time you can find help if you need it. Every staff member kind of has their major area, but they seem to do reasonable cross training as well. They may not be fully knowledgeable in other areas but usually they are good at identifying all the parts and no matter who you ask they will tell you where to go.

McLendon's WAS my favorite hardware store until today. I have been a loyal customer there at least twice a week for over twenty five years. Today I tried to return three PVC electrical boxes. I had purchased them only a couple of days before and they were in perfect condition, exactly as when I purchased them. I had misplaced my receipt and they were going to charge me a 30% restocking fee. 30%!!! I declined to return the items until I locate the receipt. With prices as high as they are at that store, you would think they could treat their loyal customers a little better than that. I have returned many items to Home Depot and Lowes without a receipt without difficulty. They scan the barcode and refund the money . . . end of story. I will never shop at a store that treats it's customers that way.

This is a truly top rate hardware store. They have everything you could need for home improvement projects even hard to find and specialty items. I went there to find some vegetable starts and was able to find a person to help me decide on which varieties would be best for my particular needs. I wouldn't shop anywhere else!

They did a really professional job and they were very good. Their price was competitive, when you call them up they called back to you and everything worked out.

Every person in every department knows their “stuff”. This is the Nordstroms of Hardware stores. If I have a problem, they will help me in person or on the phone.

If you can't find the hardware you need at the big box stores, go to Mclendon's. They have everything.

We would much rather go to McLendon Hardware instead of Home Depot.

WE WENT DOWN TO THE LOCAL MCLENDONS HARDWARE STORE. IN ADDITION TO SELLING HARDWARE, THEY SELL A LARGE NUMBER OF HOME IMPROVEMENT TYPE STUFF. WE PURCHASED NEW LOCKS HAD DUPLICATE KEYS MADE AND GOT VALUABLE INSTALLATION ADVICE FROM THE SALES STAFF.

I LOVE MCLENDON'S. I LIKE THE GUYS DOWN THERE. IT STILL FEELS LIKE A MOM AND POP PLACE. THEY ARE ALWAYS VERY HELPFUL AND KNOW HOW TO GUIDE ME WITH THE HELP NEEDED FOR ANY PROJECT.
