"Working with this customer I had numerous red flags. After completion of the job she refused to pay saying there was issues with the finish. I agreed to meet the finish rep out at the property. I also brought my wife along as she is part owner of my company and I was concerned about how the customer had acted in prior encounters. As we arrived and met the finish rep the customer refused to let my wife in the home and locked me and the rep inside. My wife waited on the front porch. the customer began yelling at me and the rep. My wife began banging on the door for me to come out. I walked to the door and unlocked it to leave. The customer slammed the door shut and put her foot in front of the door and locked me inside. My wife said she was calling the police as the customer was holding us against our will. The customer let us out at that time. As we were leaving she was yelling she was going to make a huge problem for us. My wife stated we will be filling a lien for payment. I was willing to repair any legitimate issues she had presented until she was acted so inappropriately. We researched previous properties owned by this customer and found several liens placed on the properties from contractors. Her total invoice was $3300.00 she paid $2200.00 and owed $1100.00 She proceeded to make complaints to the BBB, LNI, Our bond, our insurance, yelp and Angie list. All other companies removed her complaints as they realized this was an invalid complaint and my company was being slandered. I feel she never planned to pay for the work performed and only released the funds previously as they were needed for supplies."
