As you can see in a prior report we had hired a licensed and bonded paint contractor that we thought was a professional we found him out of the phone book did all the contractor checks and went with his bid which was in the middle. This turned out to be a huge mistake. To make a long story short we had to look for a new paint contractor that knew what they were doing when it comes to cedar siding. So we went onto Angies list to try and find one but all of the top rated painters that we called were already booked for the summer so the owner of Performance Painting Ken was kind enough to refer me to K&K Finishes a company that he had subbed some work to in the past and was based local to our home. When Chad the owner of K&K came out to look at the damage that had been done by previous painter he assured me that it could be repaired and redone correctly by using the correct products and procedures. We felt very comfortable with chad and his knowledge of his profession he took the time to explain what went wrong and how he was going to fix it. Chad also lowered his estimate to help us recover from the funds that were paid up front to the first contractor that destroyed our siding. This was way above and beyond what we expected and allowed us to move forward to finish the job with K&K Finishes. On the first day the crew showed up on time and went strait to work and by the third day the entire house was striped down to bare wood and all signs of previous damage were gone. We were just amazed at how awesome all of the prep work was going and how fast and professionally this was being done. After a couple of days to let the house dry the crew returned to start restaining. The entire house was sanded to remove any firing from the washing process and then all joints were recalked and sealed. Chad was also very professional and patient with me in trying to locate a color match to our original stain the product that was on our house had been discontinued and the color and sheen were very difficult to match. But with a bit of homework and a little leg work we found the right match. K&K applied two coats on all surfaces and all decks as well as the gutters the finished product is unbelievable the house is like new and we could not be happier. All cleanup was perfect and communication was very professional. Thank You Chad !
