Warning!  Hire a professional to paint your house. They have a vested interest in doing the job right. Their livelihood depends on quality work and keeping a good reputation.  The franchisee was a nice young man who was rarely around and apparently working on another job. When I signed the contract I insisted on at least one week drying time before painting after they pressure washed my house.  Months later when it was time to do the job they tried to rush me with that time. Then I had to insist they come back and properly clean areas that were missed. All the painter did was scar and damage the wood and still I had areas that were dirty.  Since there was no one to lead this crew I had to take it upon myself to do the job.  This meant climbing onto my roof and inspecting the job on the third story. Not a thing that a 63 year old retiree with a bum knee and bad back really should be doing. I observed two of them on their six foot step ladder at the same time.  Well over the weight limit with one of them on the side you are not supposed to use hanging supported by only one leg.  Another time one had climbed over the rail of my two decks and was hanging to the rail and painting with barely a toe hold to the deck to support him.  They did a reasonable job taping and covering my windows, but totally failed to account for any overspray.  My front porch had about one foot of spray away from the walls where they neglected to put floor coverings.  I recently replaced my two decks with a synthetic deck and white rail system. Having watched them struggle around the railings near the house I disassembled them to make life easier for them.  They never once covered the white railings when they worked near them.  They failed to account for overspray and I will still be cleaning up this summer because what I thought was dust that was far from the painting was actually paint overspray.  Their solution would be to use some paint remover on every mistake.  It is getting late in the afternoon when they are finished and the boss shows up for a final inspection.  I am frustrated and they want to leave and I feel pressured to point out all the missed spots; which were way, way, too many and to clean all the paint off of areas where it shouldn't be. It was me and four of them and a very chaotic situation.  At one point three of them are on the ground joking around while one guy is two stories up on a ladder trying to put the downspouts back in place.  Later, I found three screws in my driveway and two more in my garden.  This is the same one who butchered my wood after I called him out on his poor pressure washing.  These kids had no interest in doing a quality job as they will soon be beginning their real careers. I imagine that there are some good crews out there.  The risk is yours, I rate mine:   GRADE D-
Naturally, the lead man and franchisee said he would come back and correct any defects, but I was so frustrated with the poor experience I didn't want them back on my property
