Strong Arm Cleaning

Upon arriving home today, I found that Brian had quit without explanation.  He had been cleaning our home for about six weeks on a bi-weekly basis.  Last week, we had hired him to clean our windows.  This is something he said he did.  He charged us his usual rate.  The day he did the windows was cloudy and hot.  On the next sunny day, it became quite apparent that the windows on the back of the house were still filthy and now, also, extremely smeared.  Upon his arrival today, his normal cleaning day, we told him of the problem.  Rather than request he reclean the windows at no pay, we offered to pay half his normal rate for him to redo the windows he had previously cleaned.  We explained that we realized the windows were very dirty and that since the day was cloudy, it was probably difficult for him to tell.  We felt we were very understanding and actually generous in offering to pay additional for the job.  So, we were quite surprised when arriving home, he had quit indicating that he had cleaned for an hour and a half free to make up for the windows.  I'm disappointed that he chose not to discuss any issues he might have with us.  At this point, we have no idea why he quit - house cleaning, window washing......  I guess, it's back to looking.

After interviewing 3 firms for cleaning my home on a monthly basis, I hired Brian.  Not only was his rate significantly lower than the other agency firms I interviewed, but I liked the idea that I was actually speaking with the individual who would be performing the work.  Since his rate was reasonable, I hired him on a bi-weekly basis.  During the first visit, he cleaned constantly and I was impressed with the results.  Most significantly, he worked on the shower until it sparkled.  I have had 2 other area cleaning firms before Brian.  Neither of them provided me with such a clean  shower.  The glass doors were clear of water marks and the chrome shone.  Brian seems to take pride in his work and is willing to put in the elbow grease that is required.    I look forward to his next visit.  Also, although I have not tested him on anything but cleaning yet, he seems willing to do other work around the house inside or out.

He does a wonderful job of cleaning, and he gets along very well with my dog. I’ve been very happy with his service.
