I bought Milgard windows and sliding door because the lifetime warranty River City bragged about. They were happy to take my money. Now that the sliding glass door failed they refuse to give me any service or warranty. They said Milgard has to do the warranty. Milgard will not return my calls, and River City says not their problem. I bought the windaws from River City. They should make this right. So, if you buy from River City beware, there is no warranty.

I don't remember who recommended them to us. I think we might have just got it out of the phone book. They came by and gave us a quote and we got it done through them. Took kind of a while to get the process going, but we haven't had any problems since then and any grievance I had, I was able to talk to the supervisor and get in touch with them, so I don't have any negative feedback.

Overall we were happy with their work. We really liked them. We did have to have them come back out again, was the only issue that we had. The quality of their work is very good, and we would use them again.

The service was extremely prompt. I had a broken window in December 2014. No company called me back in time and could make it out right away except this company. They came out the day I called and charged me a reasonable price. I am so greatful and they did a superb job as well.

I asked for bids from 4 vendors each of which offered selections from several window suppliers. Each came out and
measured the windows, discussed options, left literature and submitted bids. We did our best to try to compare apples to apples with 2 low bids and one high bid. The 2 low bids were close with River City Glass the winner on price. We then went to their showroom to look at actual samples of the Cascade windows and made some minor changes in style and added the and quot;super spacerand quot; option to all of the window for a near zero net change in price.
Of the vendors River City had the earliest install date estimate so we put half down and ordered the windows. They received
the windows from Cascade and called to schedule the install ahead of their estimated install time. The installation was set for four weeks later and over 2 days.
Two installers arrived on time and with all needed supplies, windows and brick mould. The picture windows were sized as in the contract but were an inch too narrow for the rough opening. The installers offered to have them reordered but I looked at the issue and decided that the 1/2' shim boards they installed on each side resulted in no significant difference in the look and function of the windows from the exterior. It did make a difference on the interior in that I was responsible for the oak window framing on the inside which I needed to replace because the old windows were wood stopped and the new windows were installed on fins which put them 2 inches out from the old inside window frame. That gap was expected. There was a vertical oak board between each of the windows 4 1/4 inches wide which spanned the windows frames. I had intended to reuse those boards after making the windows frames deeper to handle the 2 inch gap. Because the windows were an inch narrower than the old windows the vertical boards needed to be an inch wider requiring me to replace the vertical boards instead of reusing them. Understanding that I told the installers to go ahead with the install and I would handle the inside
framing.
The picture windows were installed true and level the first day. The crew came on time the next day and applied the outside
brick mould around the picture windows and installed the kitchen and bedroom windows and outside moldings. Because the old bedroom and kitchen were fin mounted, the new windows went in perfectly without any problems. Overall the installation was very well done with attention to detail and the results looked great. The installers were courteous and professional
and skilled at their work. They cleaned up the site and let me know that I would get a call the next day to verify the installation and collect the remaining funds.
I did get a call the next morning and was asked how the install went. I explained the issue with the 45 instead of 46
inch width on the picture windows and told her that I had approved the installation. She immediately said that I should not have to incur the expense of the additional oak boards and asked how much they might cost. I told her I was not sure but would call and get a price and let her know. While I was looking up lumber suppliers she called me back with an estimate of the
cost of the oak which she had got from her supervisor. She then offered to double that amount and deduct it from my outstanding balance.
From my point of view this was outstanding customer service. The initial measurement was the vendor’s error but the
following customer service could not have been better. First, I was immediately given the choice to reorder the windows by the installers which I decided against and approved the installation. Second, I was asked about the installation and when I explained the situation I was fairly compensated for the additional materials and effort. In both cases I did not ask for but
was without hesitation offered the corrective actions. No vendor can say that every install will go perfectly but this vendor can say that when there is a problem they will take care of it.
When I need windows again I will not bother with the bid process, I will just call River City Glass.

River City glass helped us keep the costs way down. Less than Home Depot or Lowes. They were kind, professional and did a fantastic job! We are very happy!

I was a little disappointed with the first crew they sent out. They sublet the work to somebody that did a lousy job and I had to have the owner of the company come out and bring his own company crew out to fix it. I have worked with them on commercial buildings, so once the owner found out who it was, he came right out and took care of everything.

Provided least expensive estimate. Estimator requested follow-up with store owner to ensure accuracy. Lead paint test was also done at this second appointment. Order placed and the six-week wait was excessive. Team arrived promptly on promised date, but requested call on day before did not happen. Removal and install went well. Caulking missing on some ends. Also needed grouting from slate floor to door abuts. When I told crew of this , the first response was "I don't do grout." Eventually one of the crew members mixed up the grout I provided and did a good job. Made me feel like this was something crew was not made aware of by estimator. Clean-up was good. Company provided excellent assist for energy provider rebate (Avista) and provided me copies with which apply for both local and federal rebate.
