I was traveling outside the country for the beginning of September, and I needed someone reliable to mow my lawn while I was away. My next door neighbor had his home up for sale, so it was especially important that our lawn looked well maintained. They mowed and edged twice while I was away as agreed. I made the arrangements by telephone. I asked about how much the charge would be, and since he hadn't seen the size of the lawn at that point, I was told $30 or $35 each time. I expected that I would be billed the higher amount and would have gladly paid it. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I was billed the lower amount. Yet again Angie's List has steered me to a great company.

Mike and his crew were wonderful. From the time they arrived they were professional and so experienced in landscaping. Mike picked out the perfect shrubs and flowers for all of my gardens. They placed stone in my gardens and even cleaned the street after the stone was gone. These guys worked very hard and I would recommend them over and over again! I have gotten so my complements on my landscaping. I absolutely love the look!

I have been using this service for lawn care for a couple of months now. Mike mows and trims with a weed eater. He always is pleasant and answers all my questions. They are reliable and nice folks to deal with. I originally found them on Angies List and I am so glad I did. I will continue to use them.

These guys did a super job for me, and I could not be any more pleased with my overall experience with them. I have always taken care of my lawn and yard, until last week. I broke 2 bones in my shoulder, so I will not be able to do much of anything physical for a few months. I was desperate to find someone fast that could take care of my yard, but where do you look when you don't know anyone that does this kind of work? Lucky for me I found Angie's list, and then found this company Desert Sun Landscaping listed at the top of the possible choices I could make. I looked through all of the companies listed, but was very impressed with the consistently high ratings, and customer comments made for this one. So I called them up to see if they could come over and give me a quote for doing my yard work. Mike arrived within just a couple hours, just as he said he would. I went over everything with Mike, right away I really liked his professionalism, and also their company's emphasis on customer service and satisfaction as their primary goal. As we agreed Mike showed up the next morning and did the lawn mowing for me. He did a great job with the mowing, edging, and cleanup, I couldn't be more pleased. Now that I found these guys I plan to have them do some sprinkler, tree pruning, and other yard work for me in the coming weeks.
I want to say thank you to Mike and Mike for your professionalism, courteousness, customer service, and the great attitude you both have.

First note: the cost of service annoated for this project is VERY approximate, because I don't have access to the bills at the moment. Suffice to say his bid was the best of three.
Mike and his folks were great from the first meeting. They took time to answer all my questions and were willing to reconcile any issues concerning cost and planned work. They offered to discuss changes or unexpected issues with me rather than make on-the-spot decisions without my consent. Very nice when money is tight!
The lawn, the grading, the sprinklers were all fantastic and are working well. Mike even helped trouble-shoot a few problem areas in the lawn, and he educated me on the issues I'd have in my yard based on the underlying soil type. He's been correct so far. The yardwork they performed went great as well. They weeded, mowed, and edged. No complaints!
Their guys installed the sidewalk on a few unseasonably hot days, and it dried too fast which lead to one major crack. Mike offered to fix the crack and he let me set the terms for cost. I said if he took the cost of repairs (sealant) out of the final bill, I'd be ok with that. We agreed and I'd have no reservations about hiring Mike's company for future work.
His bid on my proposal was the best price for me, and he was willing to accomadate a few detailed requests and even offered a few helpful opinions along the way. This was important because I designed the yard myself with help from family/friends. His feedback and discussion improved the project.

The lawn looks great and took hold nicely. The curbing is also great. They attached sprinklers to an existing system. The best part about working with Mike is that he took time to cover all the details before installation. If changes needed to be made, we discussed them first.
The concrete sidewalks went in on one of the hottest days of the year, and so dried a little quickly. There was some minor cracking that Mike offered to repair or seal when the time came (before winter). We worked out a deal that I felt good about.
Overall, a great group to work with and the end product was exactly what I wanted. The price was great too!

I absolutely love my retaining wall! I explained to Mike Phillips what i wanted and it turned our absolutely perfect! He was able to curve the wall around the back of my garage. It looks great but it also supports my formerly exposed vinyl fence posts. I am so happy I chose Desert Sun Landscaping. i love it so much, I plan on having Mike and his crew install a retaining wall in my front yard this Fall.
I would definitely recommend this company. They were very professional. Mike took the time prior to installing the wall and walked me through exactly the way the wall would look and it looked exactly that way.

Mike and Mike are great communicators, friendly and professional. They were always on time. Their clean up and hauling of the old awning, shrubs, tree limbs, etc. was spotless! Right at the end of the project, we discovered we wanted more painting than originally planned. They accommodated us and managed to squeeze the work into their already booked schedule. Their work was excellent. Their bidding and performance flawless. We could not be more pleased. We are already planning for next spring with Desert Sun Landscaping!

These guys are wonderful. We called several companies from Angie's List and only 2 responded to us. One did not do work in this area and, lucky for us, Desert Sun was the other. We recently purchased a house that the grounds had not been well taken care of, just sort of left to become overgrown. They came out and performed miracles as far as I am concerned, reshaping all the shrubs, pruning dead and overgrown branches, weeding the beds, and exposing the edging between the beds and the lawn that were so overgrown that you couldn't even tell it was there. They will be doing our weekly mowing, and even though this project was small potatos to what they usually do, they acted like it was the most important job they had ever done. Courteous, polite, punctual, and very personable. They even came in under their estimate. I can't say enough positive things about this experience.

xt This year, they came out to see if all the fall plantings survived and make sure we are happy. WE ARE. They helped develop a plan for the back and side yards that would visually and physically separate the yard from the work area (storage, and the messes men can make that drive women crazy) and from the vegetable and flower gardens. They did all the clean up from winter and hauled it away. They organized all the spare garden materials, rocks, boards, etc. into the work area. They installed irrigation into the vegetable beds and into the planting beds. They completely cleaned the garden paths and laid down a gravel base with borders in wood to mark the garden off from the lawn. They have had concrete borders installed and will do landscape fabric in the flower beds and will also apply bark to the areas we've chosen to cover until we work on those areas in fall or possibly next year. They are great in communicating their plans and work around times that are convenient to us. They always are careful and cleanup completely. They also roll with the changes and don't act like it's a major annoyance if I don't like something or if I change my mind as we approach a job. I can't think of a single thing that I don't like about working with these people.

A great experience. We interviewed four companies. We clicked with Mike immediately. He didn't take himself so seriously that we felt like our voices wouldn't be heard and that we would end up with something we didn't love. He was someone we really wanted to work with. He spent a lot of time with us just walking the property and talking. He brought a plan with a specific design plan, including plants. His price included plants and irrigation and was extremely reasonable. We decided we wanted to "upgrade" the majority of the plants because we wanted something no one else had. They really embraced our ideas and showed up with a truck full of beautiful specimens. I loved some of the ideas they incorporated that I never would have thought of and were open to things we didn't love. Together we had great success. All of the guys on the crew were professional and fun to work with. The entire job took not much more than a week. Everyday, I go out there and look at the yard and am so thrilled and proud. We are going to use this company do completely redesign our back yard as well in the spring. Mike already has ideas and we are eager to begin.
