Quality was great fence was perfect however timing awful. delayed, delayed, delayed. nothing on time promised. responded but always had excuse. Would I hire again? Yes with a qualifier that if they were late, there would be a monetary penalty imposed for each day late.

It took about a week. They left the area clean. They worked with us in terms of what we wanted to do with the fence, and that worked out. We showed them a design and they followed it. So, they did a good job. The only issue that I had was, the post footings, what they called the crown the post footings. They put the footings in and didn?t do any finish work in the base of the post. Once the posts are set in, it?s in concrete, you can?t come back, unless you come back and fill it in. It wasn?t an issue after that, because I did go back and treat all the posts bottoms.

The only issue that would come up, would be that in terms of construction if they gave different options. Mainly they used staples to secure the wood on the fence, and if they would give an option to use screws. Normally they would use a nailer, they shoot these large nails into the wood. It slows them down if they use the screws. They had already started so I didn?t, looking back I wished I would?ve. Cause it?s easier to repair with screws.

Got five bids, Neighborhood Fence was in the low middle. Had some challenges: sloped lot, mature landscaping, very definite design and material requirements, and I have done a lot of construction myself and would be home the whole time. Took a while to get started, all the fence companies were very busy this Spring because of the windstorm in November and we had a family trip planned, but Randy was able to  begin within a week of my eventual desired date.
Building required a big tear out and haul away of the old fences (plural) and a hugely overgrown ivy vine. Post setting on a slope in rocky soil was no picnic. Custom post top details were measured and cleanly cut, And I was asked by Chris, quite a craftsman, many times for input - he wanted to make sure I was satisfied all along the way.
The final result is exactly what we hoped for. Very satisfied and would use Neighborhood Fence again.
Some suggestions: Know what you want, communicate what you want, be available for questions, and DON'T wait until the end of the project to change your mind or say you wanted something different!

Overall quality of work seems to be good.  Price was competitive.  As of now however, 3 weeks after payment in full was made, fence is not complete.  There is one panel of our fence that has been left undone.  A week after paying (with the assumption that the last panel would be finished in the next couple of days) no one came to finish the job.  I called one of the business owners and told him that the work was incomplete.  He assured me he'd send someone out to finish the fence.  Two weeks later, no one has come and I have not heard back from the company.  I called one of the owner's again (Ray Spies, 5/2/16), only to hear a somewhat unintelligible voice mail message on his phone.  I left a message.  I am hoping I can update this with the news that someone came out to finish the work promptly.  Perhaps then I can upgrade the rating somewhat.  Otherwise, professionalism, punctuality, and responsiveness will be downgraded to F's.  Beware if you are considering this company.

I  joined your service to pass on to others my disapointing experience with Neiborhood Fence. I had some minor damage done to my fence that a renter next door had done .I contacted one of the owners Randy to make this repair which turned into a month long series of  a dozen phone calls with none in return and a lot of false promises and excuses why no had come to make this simple 10 minute replacement. I had even asked about them giving me a bid for some additional work why they were here but I guess they have all the work they need without mine.

This is really frustrating to me I have been a Licensed General Contractor for 18 years and and would not still be in business if I treated my customers that way. I guess if your going to spend alot of money with Neiborhood Fence then your a priority but if you need additional service in the future even if has been long time ago  your out of luck, go some where else.

We were impressed when we hired him. When downhill from there: 1) 4 day job ended up being almost two weeks (neighbor with a dog wasn't happy), 2) when the fence was done we noticed our sprinklers ended up on the other side of our fence or underneath the fence, the crew came in around 10-12 inches when they installed the new fence, we lost some yard space and had to get our sprinklers redone (he sent out a friend and quot;who owed him a favorand quot; to repair the sprinklers and he wanted to reroute our whole system, we said no and called our guy who fixed it - Randy did pay for repairs and kept saying this has never happened and had no reason, 3) it was a beautiful fence, then a few days into it, started warping (he only installed 2 cross bars, should have done 3 (that's how he underbids by cutting corners), 4) referred us to a guy who stained the fence, he told us the boards were too fresh and not dried enough (the fence guy disagreed), 5) Randy didn't come by to check on the progress of the job, 6) when they sent someone else out to stain the 3rd cross board they had to install to prevent more warping, he was going to pay for the stain and never did. Our fence is fine, however when the light hits it everyday, you can see all the flaws. We kept asking for warranty information and a chance to see fences he had done, but we never got that information. We should have gone with someone else, we were surprised his reviews on Angie's list were good (that's why we picked him). Live and learn.

The fence is made of a combination of pressure treated wood and cedar. The posts, bottom rail and top cap are pressure treated wood. The rest of the fencing material is ceder. The style is I believe called shadow box. I plan to paint the pressure treated wood next summer to match the fencing on the other side of my house.
The bid was completed by the owner and his daughter. I like the family and neighborhood theme of the company. Various parts of the project were completed by different people and everyone was very friendly, including the black lab and quot;Boand quot; that played with my chocolate lab Cleco.
The carpentry was excellent. I am really satisfied with the end result.
I plan to use them again.

Removed old fencing, replaced fencing. Beautiful job. Friendly, reliable and professional. Provided references for other work that I was looking to complete, and each reference has turned out to be fantastic. Appreciate the and quot;going above and beyondand quot; service attitude. Very helpful

Cost estimate of the work to be done was very reasonable. The quality of the work was very satisfactory and done in a reasonable amount of time. I am sure they found the job much more difficult than they originally thought it would be due to the amount of concrete involved that needed to be jack hammered up, but they didn't complain or ask for more money, they just did it and we paid what the quote was. I found them to be an excellent choice. The only thing I didn't like was on one post they spread the broken concrete pieces around the garden bed instead of leaving it in a pile, so I had to spend a couple hours cleaning it up.

We are very happy with our new fence. Looks great, works great. Checked out a few other outfits, and feel that we got an excellent price for what we had done. Even in a bad winter storm they got the job done with very little delay. This is a local company, so the money you spend with them stays local.

Randy was available for a bid at 8 am the day after I called. That told me he was serious about wanting my business. I had a drawing of the existing fence done by an architect. Using that, and our discussion of what I wanted done, he gave me a bid in the spot! After studying the Internet and waiting for other bids to come in, I called Randy to tell him I wanted to work with his business. He seemed very pleased and told me they could begin in 4 business days (Friday to thursday). I made visits each day and was impressed with the speed of progress and the manners of the workmen. Despite unanticipated challenges (more jack hammering than anticipated, peculiar sprinkler line issues), the work was finished the following Tuesday afternoon. For a big job like this, finished in under 4 days! I met Randy back at the property for a final review that afternoon. He called me when he realized he would be a few minutes late - again, remarkable customer service. We walked the line, checking thing over and talking about the job. I found this to be an extraordinarily positive business relationship.

Randy gave us a great bid after coming out and viewing the site. We had a good feeling about him and his work, and the bid worked in our budget.

After giving him the go-ahead, he put us on the schedule and had the work done in 3 days from start to finish. The design we asked for was a little out of the ordinary. There were a couple of design flaws that were unforeseen in design. Randy and I came up with a solution that didn't cost any extra money, but solved the problems adequately. (The gate is a rolled gate that runs along the length of the garage. It's one piece and heavy enough that it should probably be motorized. The concrete of the drive is not level which impedes the smooth rolling of the gate across it.)

We plan to have it motorized in the future and will be calling Randy to get it done.

They were supposed to do the work earlier but were waiting for summer so that the concrete could fix in properly. I liked their professional way of handling things. They did a fabulous job. I did check it with other people for the price and it was okay and that's what I paid. They just really did a fantastic job. Their price was little high but the quality was excellent so I can't really complaint.
