The only issue that would come up, would be that in terms of construction if they gave different options. Mainly they used staples to secure the wood on the fence, and if they would give an option to use screws. Normally they would use a nailer, they shoot these large nails into the wood. It slows them down if they use the screws. They had already started so I didn?t, looking back I wished I would?ve. Cause it?s easier to repair with screws.
Building required a big tear out and haul away of the old fences (plural) and a hugely overgrown ivy vine. Post setting on a slope in rocky soil was no picnic. Custom post top details were measured and cleanly cut, And I was asked by Chris, quite a craftsman, many times for input - he wanted to make sure I was satisfied all along the way.
The final result is exactly what we hoped for. Very satisfied and would use Neighborhood Fence again.
Some suggestions: Know what you want, communicate what you want, be available for questions, and DON'T wait until the end of the project to change your mind or say you wanted something different!
I joined your service to pass on to others my disapointing experience with Neiborhood Fence. I had some minor damage done to my fence that a renter next door had done .I contacted one of the owners Randy to make this repair which turned into a month long series of a dozen phone calls with none in return and a lot of false promises and excuses why no had come to make this simple 10 minute replacement. I had even asked about them giving me a bid for some additional work why they were here but I guess they have all the work they need without mine.
This is really frustrating to me I have been a Licensed General Contractor for 18 years and and would not still be in business if I treated my customers that way. I guess if your going to spend alot of money with Neiborhood Fence then your a priority but if you need additional service in the future even if has been long time ago your out of luck, go some where else.
.The bid was completed by the owner and his daughter. I like the family and neighborhood theme of the company. Various parts of the project were completed by different people and everyone was very friendly, including the black lab and quot;Boand quot; that played with my chocolate lab Cleco.
The carpentry was excellent. I am really satisfied with the end result.
I plan to use them again.
After giving him the go-ahead, he put us on the schedule and had the work done in 3 days from start to finish. The design we asked for was a little out of the ordinary. There were a couple of design flaws that were unforeseen in design. Randy and I came up with a solution that didn't cost any extra money, but solved the problems adequately. (The gate is a rolled gate that runs along the length of the garage. It's one piece and heavy enough that it should probably be motorized. The concrete of the drive is not level which impedes the smooth rolling of the gate across it.)
We plan to have it motorized in the future and will be calling Randy to get it done.
