I needed a new one. I wanted to discuss different styles of fencing with somebody who knew fencing well.
I contacted three contractors for estimates and advice.
I chose MORAN FENCING after seeing some of their work elsewhere and because they have been in business for years. The estimate and advice was professionally provided. MORAN FENCE was not the lowest bid.
We scheduled the project to start on 12-6-2012 and be completed on 12-10-2012. MORAN did exactly that.
The new section of fence looks great and is well constructed. The builders knew what they were doing and arrived at the time they said they would.
I don't know what else I could have asked for or expected.
MORAN did a GREAT JOB.

All personnel that I worked with were very friendly and courteous. They were extremely punctual, and cleaned up the work area well. We had many "special" requests about how we wanted certain aspects of the job done, and the company worked with us through all of these requests. Even with the established nature of the yard (lots of shrubs, trees, etc. near the fence line), they never complained about having to work around 'natural' obstructions. The end result is a beautiful fence that will undoubtedly be standing much longer than I will be!My only complaint is that due to scheduling issues (some not the company's fault: holiday, weather), it was about 10 days between when the posts were set and when they came back to install the fencing. However, this was a small inconvenience to pay for the overall high quality of their work.
Highly recommended!!!
The salesman was very jocular; however, it appeared that his comments about what we could do did not necessarily jive with the crew foreman. We were told the fence could go to the street where the original fence stood; the foreman said we should have 2 foot setback for utilities. We went with what seemed to be accurate with the set back; I believe the city recently told me that is incorrect. The crew foreman was very rude in general and seemed to take issue when my mom asked about the job. We also wanted the lock placed on the outside of the fence for accessibility during the winter; instead telling the downside to that plan, he just did opposite of what we wanted and installed the lock on the inside. I couldn't believe that even the $6,500 check in his hand didn't even evoke a thank you on his part. I was also disappointed that the company didn't have set of customers willing to allow potential customers to view the company's work.
My biggest complaint involved the foreman's attitude. Except for the black marks bleeding down the gate from the screws and one cracked stringer, the fence currently looks ok structure-wise; however, it is aesthetically unpleasant, some of it our fault due to stain application and some of it based on listening to the foreman's suggestion regarding time before staining.
I gave a B for responsiveness for the company; however, I would give a D for responsiveness from the foreman. I gave a B for professionalism, but, again, I'd give a D to the foreman.
