DISCOUNT MUFFLER

4 year warranty. 4.5 years later, muffler noise. I returned. they put it on the hoist, checked it over and told me the muffler blew out because of backfire. My truck has never backfired. Before I took it in, I checked the muffler myself and found it had rusted through. I realize that my warranty had expired, but in 45 years of driving, I have never had a muffler go bad in 5 years. Deceitful. And poor quality

____This is the 3rd exhaust system (muffler and exhaust pipes) that Discount Muffler has installed for me.  1)  They installed an exhaust system on a 1999 Mustang that I had purchased that year. 2) Discount Muffler also installed a custom system on my 2006 Corvette.   So this is number three: Exhaust and exhaust pipes on a new 2015 Toyota Tundra.
____This review could be for all three systems as all three installations were the same: professional service from beginning to end.  For a Mustang Cobra or a Corvette or a brand new truck, you want the work to be perfect and it was on all three cars.  My new dual Flowmaster exhaust on my truck looks great.  The looks on the Mustang and Corvette were no different.
____In fact, something was wrong with the Corvette and Discount Muffler was able to find the problem (two pipes vibrating against each other) and said I should talk to the exhaust system manufacturer.  I did and they said there was a known manufacturing defect and they sent me a free replacement part which Discount Muffler replaced for me.

Had a rattling noise on my 2000 Honda Accord so he put it up on hoist and diagnosed that it was the catalytic converter.  He not only told me but showed me how he knew it was bad.  Gave me an estimate for $315 plus tax installed and did it in around 30 minutes.  Dealer would have been over twice that.  No more rattle, no more check engine light and runs great. Couldn't be happier with service provided. 

My mechanic thought that the rattle in my exhaust was due to a catalytic converter that was coming apart internally.  He suggested Discount Muffler.  Got a quote over the phone and came in for the repair.  They put it up on their rack and discovered that the problem was just 3 loose bolts.  They tightened them and sent me on my way at no charge.  They could have replaced the converter, charged me for it and I'd be none the wiser.  These are the people I'll return to when I need muffler work.

Couldn't have been better. He diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate and finished the job in a little over 30 minutes at the estimated cost. Definitely will use in the future.
