This contractor was highly recommended for projects he had done for high level executives at my workplace. I trusted him due to his reputation, but unfortunately, that was a big mistake. I am a single mom with a "tween" daughter at home, and I especially needed a contractor I could trust to be at my home while I worked. Unfortunately, without the oversight of the designers, architects, and others that were involved in the high dollar executive remodels, I ended up with shoddy workmanship, cheap materials, and many regrets for using this contractor. The kitchen remodel does look good, even though materials used were the least expensive from the Home Depot shelves. The gate on the new fence split the first time I tried to open it. Many areas were sloppily painted, and require another coat (I requested he do this, but he would not). I was left with construction debris in my garage and thrown behind bushes in my yard. Landscaping & areas of the lawn were destroyed. I attempted to resolve things I was unhappy with while the job was ongoing, but I was met with arguments, excuses, and then half hearted attempts to correct the problems. He was moody, rude, and argumentative at times. The security system salesman who was attempting to schedule the install remarked that he had never been spoken to so rudely by a contractor before. This contractor insisted on progress payments for work that was not complete, and I finally had to refuse further payments until I saw progress. The work was then hastily and poorly done. He was rarely at the job site for days at a time. He left his teenage son and his son's friend with a list of things to do each day. Then he came back to pick them up just before I came home. One day I discovered my computer full of p**********, with my young daughter in the house who regularly uses it. Unsupervised teens were obviously not the workforce that I had contracted to pay $30k for. I have recently been contacted by a woman who wanted to know if this contractor was living with me. He told her that we had a romantic relationship, and that he needed to borrow several thousand dollars from her to complete my remodel and end the relationship. He then dropped out of sight, and she was looking for him. I am extremely angry that he used my name and reputation to con this woman, and can only wonder if he has done this to others who haven't figured out a way to contact me yet. I have saved for this remodel for years, and it was to be a dream come true for me. Instead I'm left to worry about shortcuts and sloppy work that he may have done in areas that I can't see (wiring, plumbing, insulation, etc.) I will now need to hire another contractor to make everything right, and to put my mind at ease, because I do not want this one back in my home.
