The rep for the company came out promptly to look at the job. He was very knowledgable and friendly. He gave me some pointers on some of my other maintenance issues and sounded genially interested in doing the job. Though the bid came back a bit high, I thought I could lower the cost by doing some of the work myself. The crew of 2 came out and completed the job in 1 day. Again, this consisted of removing 2 small willow trees, planting 3 new trees with caging around them, and caging 2 existing trees. To me, the purpose of having landscaping done is to make your property more aesthetically pleasing. Now, I'm not in the landscaping business, but It would be nice if the job looked good when you were done. I don't really feel the work done was very good, and here is why.The existing trees that were caged had a bunch of dead grass and tubleweed around them. I was expecting all that debris to be removed before they were caged. This was not done. Now I have to go back in myself, uncage the trees and clean up around them. When I confronted the company about this, I was told that I should have told them what I wanted when I was having them bid out the job. Gee, I didn't know they needed someone to explain something so simple as making it look nice. Two of the trees that were planted promptly turned brown and the leaves started falling off of them the day after planting. I was concerned that they were either not getting enough water, or too much water. I uncaged them and dug test holes to discover that the water getting to them was adequate. I called the company and they sent someone out the next day. He explained that the trees probably were not covered while being transported to my home and had been and quot;wind burnedand quot; which was causing the leaves to fall off. They did say that they would replace the trees if they died. The trees aren't dead yet and are making a very slow recovery, but they look like h***. All of this, I would not mind if the final bill had not been so steep. This is why you should always get a new bid for any changes in the job. The bill went from $2700 with all the work to $2400 after I pruned my 3 large willows (I have been quoted up to $800 for this job from other companies, which is why I finally decided to do it myself.) and rototilled the garden myself. When I voiced my displeasure at the new price, it was dropped to $2200, still too much for the end result I think. Every time I look at my brown trees I get a little angry.
If I were in the landscaping business, I would be embarrassed by this job.

Spokane Landscaping and Maintenence did eventually replace the two trees that were dying. The new trees look good and will hopefully survive.

They were referred to me by a nursery. Jim Lindblad was excellent to work with. He worked with a rock place and they brought out the rocks. It was quite interesting to watch. He was easy to work with. It was about $3000 for several hundred plants. He was really good. He loaded up the truck. I had lifted all the plants. He brought the plants out and put them down. He took back what I didn't want. He brought his guys in. They were in and out in a day and a half. I was able to look at the plants in the yard before he planted them. I was able to decide and it didn

I had first talked to this company last fall but then we had that cold spell and we decided to do the job this spring. They got in touch with me as soon as the weather was right. They came with all the equipment they needed , including some boards so they wouldn't leave tracks in my yard. They were very professional from start to finish.

Went great! They were referred by a neighbor. Did our work promptly, completely, and cleaned up after themselves.
