the first response was quick and the tech arrived on time, looked at the issue and said, "here's the issue (replace outlet)and here's how much it will cost to fix." I decided I could take care of that myself. However, my fix didn't work. so I called to have them come out and perform the work. The morning of the scheduled repair, I get a call to confirm (thank you) and was told the cost would include the dispatch fee, diagnosis charge and whatever the cost to fix the problem. My response was that they already diagnosed the issue and even told me how much it would cost to fix. When I explained that they had already given me the diagnosis and cost, I was told, "no sir, we've gone over the paperwork and also record our calls (illegal, by the way, without out telling the other party). After a short "discussion" I asked them to please just come out and do what needs to be done. Which they did. The work was done and the techs were polite. My only advice to future customers (and I say this about any contractor) is to get everything in writing.

Two electricians from CEI arrived actually early (called first) and quickly determined the problem with the outlets and repaired them. They explained what had happened and and gave us some tips should the problem happened again. Very professional. Very friendly. Very knowledgeable. CEI charges $49 for the visit, then has scheduled prices depending on the work required. In our case, although we approved their scheduled price, since they found and repaired the problem so quickly they reduced the scheduled price.

There estimate was almost $6000 over the contractor I used. they told me that my gas line and water mains were not bonded to the electrical ground. I went outside the house and saw the appropriate 4ga wire bonded to the gas line into the house. They also told me that the electric water heater was not grounded and said, " See here someone cut the ground wire off." I said, "That seems strange.", as I felt very comfortable with the folks who installed the heater. I asked the contractor i used about it and he said, "Look the ground is tied to the case the way it should be and this is just the tail end sticking out." They also wanted to charge me $1000 to install a utility light inside an open framed shed with a light switch next to the door which I did not ask for. This looked like maybe 8ft of 14 ga Romex to an overhead light socket. I would use a pull chord socket and eliminate the box. I bet I could do this for less than $20. I think they were very unprofessional in telling me that the ground system to the house was not correct when they didn't really go inspect it. I only paid the fee for the quote

Our quote to you was not for a simple light fixture, it was for a new sub panel and the required grounding and bonding in the your pool house. There were multiple things with your electrical system that were unsafe and code violations. At CEI we will not perform any work on unsafe electrical systems unless we can bring the part that we are working on up to code and safety standards. I think the fact that you were in a hurry the day we came to look it over and we couldn't stay to explain the quote to you might be where some of the misunderstanding took place. We take electrical safety very seriously here. We take out permits on all of our work as required and we have lifetime warranties on our work. Current Electrical showed up as scheduled. They were very knowledgeable, got right to the issue and fixed the problem (I don't remember the tech's name, but he is awesome). Customer service is super. They kept in contact to let me know they were coming as scheduled and they were very pleasant over the phone.

I like them. Their price was very reasonable. He was on time and efficient. He thought he fixed something but the next day it didn't work so he came back out and fixed it at no charge. They are out-of-town and it's a little bit of a drive to get here so I appreciated that. I'm thinking about calling them again.
