This is a followup review. In my original review I said I had four jobs with this company. I said two of them were awnings and they went fine. Well, it's been a few years and the gutters on those awnings are leaking onto the wood deck and causing problems. As we begin to deal with the issue we're finding out what a nightmare this particular design is. The entire end of the awning actually sits IN the gutter so doing any work on the gutter isn't a possibility without tearing down the entire awning. We're not done fixing the problem, but I'd like Gaynor to know his fabulous awnings aren't so fabulous, after all. Maybe by now he's using a different design. I certainly hope so for his customer's sake. I have a company out there right now as I type this cleaning it and finding that the metal ends that run into the gutter are very sharp so not really safe for the homeowner when it comes to attempting to do any cleaning. He showed me his gloves that were all torn up from that. Also where the downspout begins is where there is a "down" section of the awning covering it (the design of the metal goes up and down across the end) so that's not conducive to good drainage. I see that there was a slight angle in the deck rail at that spot and that is why he placed it where he did, but it wasn't the best way, was it? I was wondering if they were actually still in business so when I googled today I also found out they are NOT a member of the BBB. No surprise there. I'm asked to give a Letter Rating below and I'm actually going to give a better rating than I think about the company as a whole because I'm going to restrict it to just this one job and it wasn't the worst one.

This is old, but it really warrants being told.  I bought my house in 2001.  Over the next few years I had these guys come out for four jobs.  The first job was a metal awning over my large front porch area.  It was fine.  Price was good.  The second job was a metal awning over my HUGE back porch.  Work was fine.  Price was fine.  Then I had them do my entire house with new windows, 27 of them.  Work was fine.  Price was fine.  Then I had them put a metal roof on, a project they normally don't do, but agreed to do it for 10k.  They hired a sub-contractor.  This company does siding and that is the only thing I hadn't had done yet and I didn't plan on it.  While at my house during this last job, I said to Gaynor, "Well, I don't think I have any more work for you.  I don't think I'm going to have the siding done."  He replied, "I don't care.  I am so busy."  Wow!  "I don't care?"  That's a bit rude.  Three years later I had discovered leaking in the roof.  I called about it.  The response was phenomenally rude.  Gaynor said, "WHAT!?  THAT WAS FIVE YEARS AGO!  THAT GUY IS DEAD!"  So, apparently, the subcontractor that did my house had apparently fell off of a roof and got killed.  I was directed to my 12 month installation warranty.  I was pretty upset as you can imagine.  I had given these guys so much business and roofs aren't cheap.  All in all, I would at least have expected to be treated with some respect, but they acted like I was a joke.  I was a customer, not a dealer, so I guess I wasn't educated on the business.  I guess if I had spent more money on a reputable roofer I would have at least gotten a ten year warranty.  So I tried to talk to them.  His wife actually laughed at me on the phone.  In 2012 I spent an additional $6k to have the roof entirely redone by Coast Exteriors and I have a lifetime guarantee on EVERYTHING.  THAT guy is awesome!  I would never recommend Capital Home Improvement.  They are friendly and everything is fine until they have a negative thing to deal with.  Then watch out!

The company was very professional and friendly from the first phone call to the finished product. I was given options and selected the best for me. The result was that it cost less than I had estimated. The response was prompt. After the first call, I was contacted for an appointment for measurements, and the order was placed. In little more than a week, the new window was installed--and the window screen on the lower portion of the window replaced. Excellent customer service.

The bid process was very quick and smooth. I was happy with their bid and professionalism. There was no hard sell involved. They replaced the windows and doors and everything went well. Although they didn't have one of the screen doors to the patio window (it was on order), they kept me updated and replaced it when it came in shortly after the initial install.
