BEWARE the pricing method that Specialty Pump & Well uses - rather than an hourly rate for work performed they charge a "Flat Rate" from a manual based nationally. They charged $329 to replace a well pressure switch and $318.02 for the relief valve which was on top of their Service Fee of $99. Turns out that the parts involved cost approximately $60. The technician did not indicate how long the repair would take. The technician was at our home for less than an hour to diagnose and perform the work. So basically they charged $550 over and above the parts for less than an hour of work. Also the Service Fee should be considered as a "Trip Charge" as none of the $99 is applied to the work performed. On top of this, although we had made an appointment, they totally missed it and didn't have anyone scheduled to come out at the appointed time. After seeing how quick the repair took, I got a quote from another well repair outfit and their price would have been $277.00 to cover parts and labor. I called Specialty to dispute their pricing method and the missed appointment - they offered to knock $186 off of the bill of $812.42 with the understanding that we do not dispute their billing any further. Don't be fooled by their BBB rating as it doesn't mean you are going to be fairly charged for work. Get a full detailed disclosure of work to be performed and an estimate of the time to accomplish it before signing their contract.
Response from Specialty Pump & Well
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed], On 1/4/2018, we responded to your call about no water pressure to your home. Though the call was not on our calendar for the day, we arranged our schedule to accommodate your request and dispatched a technician to your property immediately. He arrived in less than 45 minutes from the time you called. Our technician diagnosed your well system and found that the well pressure switch needed to be replaced. We also recommended replacing a pressure relief valve. Before any work was started, our technician provided a written estimate for replacing both items. Your husband Glenn signed and approved it. Again, this procedure was done prior to any work being started. Sometime later, you called requesting a discount. We began to work with you to find a solution. Though the contract was signed, and prices were presented and agreed to, we continued to seek a solution with you in good faith. We offered 25% off the total bill to resolve the issue. You declined our discount and demanded a nearly 50% discount. Our standardized pricing gives our customers upfront quotes in advance. We use this standardized pricing system to eliminate any possibility of miscommunication after service is performed. Your husband Glenn signed and approved it prior to any work being started. It is always our intention to provide our customers with excellent service. We regret we have not been able to find a mutually acceptable solution. Specialty Pump and Well Oscar Gonzalez"

We'd made an appointment for the "a.m." time of day. They phoned about 2 minutes before noon to say they were on their way. Two very pleasant men arrived & after checking the pump they found where the leaks were & gave me a firm price. They had all of the correct parts for my very old pump system & .made the repair. They verified that the pump was working correctly & presented me with the bill for the exact amount they said it would be.

We called Specialty Pump as they are who installed a new pump in our home during the purchase process a year ago which was paid for by the previous owners.
We called this afternoon and were able to get through to Toby right away.  He said he would have someone out that day, which was a Friday afternoon at the start of the Memorial Holiday.  We had no water, so you can imagine we were a bit panicked.  Phil showed up a few hours later and I recognized him from when he and Toby had installed the pump for us a year ago.
Phil was a nice guy and was willing to answer the questions I had for him.  He was here for about 15 minutes before he went out to his truck.  He came back in a few minutes later and said that one of the main floats needed to be replaced as the contacts were worn out.  He said it would cost $485 plus another $129.50 for the service call.  I was a bit taken aback as that seemed rather expensive to replace one float.  I called my husband and he spoke with Phil and also questioned the price.  Phil said he was cutting us a deal, but it still seemed rather steep to us for the replacement of one float.  The estimate was not broken down by labor and parts it was presented as a flat rate.
Anyway, since we were without water and going into the Memorial Day Holiday we did not feel like we had much choice but to have hm fix it.  We are a family of six, so going a long weekend without water if it could be avoided was not much of an option.
While Specialty came out promptly and Phil was nice, we felt that we were taken advantage of.  It did not help to talk with our neighbor after Phil left and find out that they had three  floats in their tank which is identical to ours replaced a year ago by another company for $350 (parts, labor, service call).  So, we felt even more like we were charged excessively.
Needless to say, I don't think we will be calling Specialty Pump again.

I called Speciality Pump and Well and All Plumbing & Heating Services because my furnace wasn't heating and not much air seemed to be coming out of the heat vents. The individual who came said the problem was a clogged furnace filter. He also said the furnace components needed cleaning. I asked him to clean and service the furnace. The outside of the furnace looked clean when he was done but when the gas company came a couple of days later we looked inside the furnace at the burners and could see that they had not been cleaned and were in very poor shape.  The reason I had called the gas company was because I was afraid the smell the furnace was giving off was gas even though the person from Speciality Pump and Well and All Plumbing & Heating Services had said it wasn't.  It wasn't the "rotten egg" smell that is often used to describe the smell of gas so I wasn't sure.  The gas company determined that the furnace was in fact leaking gas and could not be operated in the state it was in.  The gas company recommended that my furnace be replaced rather than attempting to repair it because they identified multiple significant problems.
The Speciality Pump and Well and All Plumbing & Heating Services charges were:
Cleaning the furnace $289.50.
Service fee $119.50
Tax $38.85.
For the total charge of $447.85 I think Speciality Pump and Well and All Plumbing & Heating Services should have provided at least as much service as the gas company provided for free.
Note, the company address on my bill is 23505 77th Ave SE, Woodinville, WA 98072 rather than the Snohomish address displayed above.  Phone 800-737-9242, Fax 425-424-3790, LIC# SPECIPP905LI, LIC#SPECIPP90531

Company demanded payment before beginning work, always a bad sign. after installation company refused to deal with line and pressure problems resulting from the installation, and was nasty and insulting about being asked to do so. It was necessary to hire a 2nd well contractor, at additional expense, to fix the problems created by the worthless and uncaring specialty pump and well of Snohomish Washington. Avoid these people at all costs.
Response from Specialty Pump & Well
"WE UNDERSTAND HIS FRUSTRATION, BUT THERE'S ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY. HE CONTRACTED US TO ADDRESS ISSUES WITH HIS PUMP, WHICH WE REPLACED AS CONTRACTED. THE PUMP WAS REPLACED WITH THE SAME POWER PUMP HE HAD ORIGINALLY, WHICH IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE WATER AND PRESSURE FOR CURRENT AND FUTURE USE. AFTER HE HAD A NEW PUMP IN PLACE OPERATING WITHIN DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS, HE BECAME AWARE OF PROBLEMS WITH HIS WATERLINE. THESE PROBLEMS WERE ALREADY THERE, BUT WITH HIS PUMP PERFORMING AT A FRACTION OF THE SPECIFIED PERFORMANCE, THESE PROBLEMS WEREN'T EVIDENT UNTIL THE PUMP WAS REPLACED. I WAS NOT IN THE OFFICE AT THIS TIME, BUT FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE SPECIALTY REFUSED TO DEAL WITH LINE AND PRESSURE PROBLEMS. WE MAY HAVE REFUSED TO DEAL WITH THOSE PROBLEMS FOR FREE, AS WE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY PERFORMANCE ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH THE LINE. IF PERFORMANCE ISSUES HAD ARISEN WITH THE PUMP, WE WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN HAPPY TO ADDRESS THOSE PROBLEMS. WE ALSO WOULD HAVE BEEN GLAD TO DEAL WITH THE PROBLEMS WITH HIS WATERLINE FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE. YES WE DID ASK (NOT DEMAND) FOR A CREDIT CARD UP FRONT AS SECURITY, AS MOST SERVICE COMPANIES DO. LOOKING AT OUR PAPERWORK, THE JOB WAS SOLD JANUARY 4TH, WORK PERFORMED ON JAN 5TH AND THE VISA GIVEN TO US WAS RAN JANUARY 5TH. AS FOR BEING SNOTTY ABOUT FUTURE REPAIRS, I CAN'T ANSWER TO THAT AS I WASN'T IN THE OFFICE AT THAT TIME, BUT OUR COMPANY POLICY IS TO TREAT OUR CUSTOMERS AS WE WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED. IF HE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH OUR BUSINESS OFFICE, I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THAT. THIS INDUSTRY IS FAIRLY SMALL AND CLOSE KNIT, AND I HAVE TALKED WITH THE SECOND COMPANY HE FEELS HE HAD TO CALL OUT. THE SECOND COMPANY CONFIRMS THE PROBLEMS WITH THE WATERLINE WEREN'T NEW, BUT CAME TO LIGHT BECAUSE THE NEW PUMP OPERATING WITHIN FACTORY SPECS MADE THEM EVIDENT."

Two guys came out to inspect the site (charge: $130), agreed on work to be done, quoted me a price ($1800), and told me they'd be there around 10 the next morning to do it. No call, no show the next day. Out of curiousity I searched on the Internet for the replacement cost of the two failed tanks: $600. Between that and the fact they kept me sitting around all day yesterday I was inclined to cancel on them. But I'd already signed paperwork saying I'd have the work done, so I called back and asked what was going on. I was told they'd be out that day. And they were. The same two guys that did the initial visit showed up and installed the pressure tank. Install went well and was very professional. Took about two hours. They seem expensive (hard to say why, invoice was not itemized) and the no-show was annoying. They do seem experienced with wells and I might call them in a jam, but would shop around next time if the situation allowed.

VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. BASED ON A RETIRED PLUMBER THE PRESSURE VALVE WAS USED, THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE VALVE, AND THE PRICE FOR WHAT THEY DID WAS EXCESSIVE. NOTE: THE PUMPING SYSTEM THEY HAD INSTALLED HAD NEVER BEEN TURNED ON. THAT THEY BLAMED ON MY GENERAL CONTRACTOR
