Robert and Jeff's work is beautiful and of excellent quality. They have an artistic eye and I am so happy with their work. They are easy and enjoyable to work with and leave no mess. I gave them a B on price only because they are more expensive than other bids but worth it.

This turned out to be an extensive job, but the results are beautiful. The before-and-after is amazing. Robert and crew are true craftsmen.

We replaced our roof 20 years ago with cement shingles that only a professional can walk on.  He coordinated with our roofer to remove shingles to make a path to the 3 chimneys.  He removed upper concrete drip caps, chimney crowns and steel posts, ground out all mortar heads and bed joints.  He raised the entire structure to remove loose sand and provide proper bonding.  He tuck pointed entire structure and ensured color match and texture tooling match (they now look beautiful).  He removed ancient and very heavy chimney caps and replaced with custom stainless steel caps that look great and are much safer in an earthquake situation.  He replaced an exhaust cell,, restored and replaced damaged flashings, and waterproofed the masonry .
He also repaired a firebox in the house that wasn't drawing properly.  I love wood burning fires and something had gone wrong with the fireplace draw, making it impossible to enjoy a fire.  He diagnosed the problem and fixed it.

He worked around October and November weather challenges and was here for long hours, including weekends whenever weather permitted to make sure the job got done before roof-leaking season.

He cleaned up the work area perfectly and his work (chimney and firebox) looks beautiful. And he coordinated with our roofer to get the roof tiles put back so I didn't have to be in the middle of trying to schedule things in a bad weather season where putting things back together was pretty important.

Oh, and one more thing.   I mentioned our roofer had to remove tiles and put down tar paper to protect us.  One Saturday in a very strong windstorm, some tarpaper got ripped off the roof, leaving us exposed in driving rain. I couldn't reach the roofer, so I called Robert for advice.  He got in his truck, raced to get down to Seattle (from Snohomish) before dark, so it could be repaired same day. He got up on the roof in that wind and put new tar paper down and secured it.  He is just so service oriented, as well as being an artist.  I can't say enough about him.

I called Robert after finding him on Angie's List.  He happened to be in the area when I called, so he came immediately and looked at the window opening that needed to be re-bricked after the window was enlarged.  He gave me a price and said that, since it was a small job, he could fit me in between other jobs he had in the area.  He came a few days later and did the work.  The area where he and his co-worker reinstalled the brick  looks great, and I have no doubt that the quality of the work is excellent. True craftsmanship.

Robert was easily one of the most professional masons that we worked with, especially during the bidding process. He got back to us in a timely manner, and was straight forward with what needed to be done. He didn't cut any corners and was always focused on the overall quality of the project. The final result is even better than we anticipated, and we will definitely work with again for any future masonry needs!

We are very happy with our choice to use RC Masonry. We contacted quite a few masons to bid our job and even had a hard time getting a written bid back from a couple, but not with RC Masonry. It was easy to get in touch with Robert to schedule an estimate appointment. When I needed to reschedule he was able to accommodate. He was great at answering our questions and quoting the job. His bid wasn?t the highest or lowest, but it was the upper middle. Our bid from RC was in the fall of the previous year, but was too late in the year because of the cold weather to start the job. During the winter the tar paper that the general contractor put up had tearing away. Robert came out right away and installed new tar paper to get through the winter. We had several decisions to make to the fireplace as work was underway; we felt Robert and Jeff provided options and guided us to the best solution; not just the quickest or cheapest for them. Robert and Jeff were here when they said they would be, did the job to our picky specifications, communicated with us throughout if plans changed, and created a wonderful backdrop for our outdoor space. We felt that cost was worth the quality of work and in the end was good value. We would definitely use them again.

Bobby is a can do guy. He managed to find Klinker bricks that match my house. I am so proud of the job Jeff did. It is better than I ever expected to get. I will keep his number for future jobs. While not cheap he is resonable, and  worth every dollar.I would highly recommend them to everyone.

We tore out the existing fireplace and installed a gas insert, new hearth and fireplace face and a new mantle. Each piece was being completed by a different party. Robert came and provided some ideas about what would look good, how the process would go from his standpoint and what materials made sense. He was well respected and worked well with the gas insert installers, which we appreciated.
Robert and his team came three times to complete our job. The first visit, they prepared the space and protected our floors, etc. They dismantled and removed the old hearth and fire place face. The time required for demo was done on a per hour basis and his team got the job done quickly.
The next visit, two of Roberts crew reconfigured the size and shape of the fireplace with block. Robert was here at the beginning and end of each day to ensure everything went smoothly. Robert finished and leveled the floor of our firebox so that the gas insert could be installed.
Once the insert was installed and the mantel ready, one of Robert's crew came back to install the ledge stone face on the fireplace. Again, Robert was here at the beginning and end of the two days that it took to complete. Finally, Robert came on a Saturday morning to clean the face and hearth.
While Robert and his crew were here, they were friendly and worked effectively. They offered information and solutions on other stone/brick work in our house, as well as for the maintenance and function of our chimney and new fire place. Ours was a small job done in several pieces, and Robert fit us in between several other jobs. He and his crew do good work and so they are busy. However, he still made us feel like we were an important customer.
Overall, Robert was not the most inexpensive contractor, but you get what you pay for. The finished product looks great. We appreciate the work and will use RC Masonry again in the future.

Robert Cashdollar came out and gave us an estimate in August.  We were impressed with the thoroughness and the questions that he asked to make sure that he understood the job that we wanted done.
It took a while to get all of the permits in place, but Robert worked well with both the fireplace retailer (we installed a gas fireplace), and the team from puget sound energy.  Those installations pushed the masonry work back until January, but Robert worked well with the timelines, and guiding us through the process.
His team came in and tapped off that part of the room, protecting the floor and rest of the room.  The fireplace and planter turned out beautifully.  We couldn't be happier with our choice to go with RC Masonry.

RC Masonry came highly recommended for the quality  of their workmanship, and didn't disappoint in meeting that expectation.  Problems with chimney were first noted  in early winter, and RC Masonry provided stop gap protection to get through the winter until weather would permit the actual restoration work.  We generally agreed it could wait until July or august.  Due to a high volume of work at other jobs, our schedule was pushed into late Sept & early October.  Work actually was performed over couple week period, with a day or 2 on one phase and a few days before next stage was performed (as was communicated about the overall schedule before they started).  Nature of work creates some spray with particulate from structures being cleaned, but efforts were made to manage that and then do a good site clean up.

Would not hesitate to recommend RC Masonry.

I can't say enough good things about Robert Cashdollar and RC Masonry. Robert and his crew showed up when they said they would show up and stayed on the job daily until completion. We really appreciated tat and can't say that about all the different contractors We've worked with over the years.  Some get over booked and go back and forth between jobs.  Robert explained that he books himself and pretty much stays on schedule, which is what happened.
Robert explained in detail what they were going to do and then did the job exactly  as explained.  Robert, himself, spends much of the time working right along side his crew.
The results are even more beautiful than my wife and I expected.  Our house has become the showpiece of the neighborhood.  We've even seen a car drive past, stop back up, and take a longer look.
RC Masonry may not be the lowest bidder, but they might be the best.  I'd retain again in a heartbeat.

Robert worked with the scaffolding and boom rental companies to get us the best possible price.  The rain and lightening caused many delays and he made sure we were not charged for extra rental time due to bad weather.  It was a joy to watch them work their magic.  They were generally helpful beyond the call of duty.  We already have them scheduled for the next job.  Thanks guys!

see above RC Masonry rocks!  I've attached two pictures as testament to their work.  The smaller unit is from the kitchen which has a fieldstone look, top sill mantle, and a tri stone hearth pad pattern with complementing colors to match the surrounding wood floor.  The downstairs unit features a ledgestone look with fieldstone runners added for thematic impact and to break up the "stack look".   I always receive compliments when people come into the rooms and view them for the first time and almost everyone can't resist rubbing their hands along the stone and becoming one with the texture.  Thank you so much Robert and crew, you guys were phenomenal!

It was clear right from the bidding process that Robert knew the work that needed to be done and explained it in detail, including all of the prep work (something that other bidders did not do) so we felt confident that Robert would do the work correctly.  Since we were covering existing material, Robert needed to fabricate custom cap stones for us.  The end result is that the stone work and the cap stones look great.  We have had neighbors and friends compliment the work and ask for Robert's information, which we gladly passed along.  We will call him again for any future work.

Robert was on time and on budget, but what impressed me the most is the quality of work and his attention to detail.  He acid washed the brick twice before grinding the old mortar, tuck pointed the entire house, acid washed again and then waterproofed.  He had to take down part of the chimney and rebuild it and also put bricks into various openings from old water lines to fan outlets to electrical access holes.  He removed various old cable and telephone lines.  After all that, the windows were washed, the planting beds cleaned up, and the walkways pressure washed.  The house looks brand new.  I can't say enough good things about him and his company.  He always explained what he was doing and why.

This job went excellent.  During the bidding process Robert showed up on time and ready to bid the work.  He was extremely knowledgeable about the details of the work required and the type of stone that would look best.  My original plan for the fireplace remodel was completely different than what I ended up having Robert do for me and that is all thanks to Robert.  He offered some suggestions about what he would do and I loved them.  It took us 2 visits to settle on a full design and schedule but Robert was very patient with us.  We went to the stone supplier and selected our stone then had a new gas fireplace inserts installed (from another company) then Robert was able to start his work.  He showed up on to work early and prepared for every day of the job.  The job took a total of 10 days to complete.  He removed the upper portion of the old fireplace brick so I could run cabling into the wall, he refilled that portion after the cabling was complete.  I marked the location for the mounting for my TV bracketing and he installed everything required for the mounting to work through the stone.  He refaced the fireplace around the new insert and installed a new 3" solid stone hearth.  Robert came back to clean everything then seal it.  I would absolutely hire Robert again.  He was a pleasure to work with both personally and professionally.  Robert and his team delivered exactly what they said they would deliver and met the original delivery date.  He even worked Christmas eve so I would have the new fireplace for the holidays.  I highly recommend Robert and his team for masonry work.

This past winter our living room ceiling developed several leaks
around the fireplace. I first called a roofing company and they advised me to
contact a mason. I then called several chimney companies, who advertised
masonry as a service, for an estimate. I was troubled by the wide range of
explanations about the cause of leaks, their solutions on how to fix the leaks
and their price for fixing the leaks. When I called Robert he promptly came out
to the house. I appreciated his honest assessment and how strongly he stands by
his work. He explained that our chimney needed a full restoration. His bid was
on the higher side, however I was confident that I would be getting a higher
quality of work compared to the other companies. As soon as I accepted Robert?s
bid he took immediate action by wrapping the chimney to prevent any more water
damage to our ceiling. The chimney remained wrap until the spring when the
rainy weather ceased long enough for Robert to start the masonry work on the
chimney. During this period of time, when the chimney was wrapped, Robert
called to make sure that the wrap was working and no more moisture was
continuing to enter the house. He also remained in touch with me about his
schedule. Once the work began Robert and his crew were on time and they made a
great effort to keep the job site clean. The restoration took 3 days, plus a
couple additional visits for a final cleaning and waterproofing. Robert takes
great pride in his work and he delivers high quality craftsmanship. I highly
recommend Robert, as a mason who can meet any of your masonry needs.

The contractor never went up on the roof to see what we really needed. The estimate was just for cleaning the flues and then estimating the cost for what else is needed. I felt like I was being led into a trap. A chimney estimate without going on the roof is worthless I was appalled this contractor would waste his and my time. He also would not communicate by email which just delayed getting the estimate even further.
