We had a toilet that wouldn't flush without backing up a bit.
I called Mr. Rooter and was told a technician would be out in the morning between 9am and noon.  At noon I called the company to find out when the technician could be expected and was told he was about an hour away.
When he arrived he saw that I had already removed the toilet from the floor and said the quote would reflect a $50 dollar discount because of that. He said he could clear the blockage and I agreed with the quote.
He brought in his machine and began snaking the sewer line.  The pressure switch was defective and he had to keep taking his knee off of it.  When he did this I had to unplug the switch hose from the back of the machine and reconnect it so it would refill with air and he could continue.  As the machine drum rotated, it would rock and jump on the floor so I had to stand with my feet on its wheels while holding onto the handle to keep it steady.  It was obvious to me that I had to be directly involved due to the condition of the equipment.
As he withdrew the snake from the drain, dirty water would collect in the snake drum and as the drum spun, that same dirty water was distributed on the toilet which was set aside, the vanity and wall to one side of the machine, and all over our shower curtain on the other side of the machine.
He snaked the drain several times and was not able to clear it.  When he removed his machine, his mat the machine set on was soaked with sewer water that poured out of it from the bathroom through the kitchen and out the back door.  It was a real mess and all he did was moved a towel over it with his foot.
I dug out the septic tank cover and when the cover was removed, the water level was near the top of the tank.  He said that was my problem.
A septic tank is supposed to be full of water!  But, he's the professional so I had it pumped the next day.  When the toilet still wouldn't flush with an empty septic tank, I new the line was not clear.  I knew that his snake had not gone all the way to the septic tank as the plumber told me.  I called Mr. Rooter and asked if they could send the plumber back to snake it again.
While waiting for him to return, I decided to clear the line myself using a garden hose and a water jet nozzle.  Once I was successful, I told the plumbing company to stand down because I had cleared the drain myself.
The dispatcher assured me that the manager would be contacting me regarding this disappointing service.  If I ran my company this way I would not be in business very long.
He failed to perform the job.  He spread hazardous sewer water in the house.
I expect a full refund but I am not hopeful.

UPDATE------------------------------------

I talked with Robert, the service manager and was given a full refund.  Thanks Robert!
