The inspector missed a roof that we were later told by 4 different roofing companies is "shot" and we have to replace it within a year. That's a huge miss on an inspection and a mistake that is going to cost us around 15k.

Farren does a very good job, he knows a lot about what he does and gives very helpful advice. This was actually the second home inspection that we ordered, Farren saved us from purchasing a bad flip a few weeks earlier.
He also sends you a very detailed report with pictures that is very useful.

The experience we had with Mark at Key Inspection was nothing short of thorough and professional. The sellers did not leave us a lot of time to close, so we had to get an inspector in pronto. Among all the many inspections services I called, Key Inspection was the only company willing to work with us so last minute. Their website was clear and easy to navigate and it was so convenient to book a next day appointment online. Within a short period after booking, we received confirmation of our appointment. The next day, Mark showed up early and was already working on a visual inspection from the outside of the house. He stayed for over 4-5 hours and was extremely thorough. He walked through the crawl spaces, checked all the appliances, climbed on the ceiling and checked the gutters. He gave me sound advice about how to maintain the home to reduce long-term costs and gave safety advice on things like the water heater and fireplaces. He was willing to answer all my questions. He was very friendly and easy to talk to and very professional. I really felt I got the best value for the cost. I would recommend Key Inspection for any inspection services.

Everything was great. Farren was prompt, honest, and did a thorough inspection of the house. He provided a detailed report and charged a fair price for the service as well.

As expected. Mark did a very thorough job of going through all the components of the home that was included with the inspection and was able to provide me a digital copy of the inpsection report in less then 12 hours which included items of concerns with pictures.

We had used Farren West as our inspector for 2 houses on which we had offered and were accepted. He accessed all areas of the house, including the attics, crawlspaces, roofs, and patios.His report was thorough with ample documentation and photographs. He has a thorough knowledge of the area, building codes, electrical wiring and plumbing issues. He was able to point out some outdated equipment and wiring, presence of rodents, areas of water damage in both houses which were inspected. We were able to make some informed decisions regarding our house purchase. I would recommend Farren West as he performs thorough inspections and provides fair and unbiased reports backed up with photographs.

Our inspection was nearly a year ago. Key was recommended by our RE agent, which I usually don't go for, but we were pinched for time. I have this thing about wanting to make sure certain items will be checked and I like to interview the inspector before hiring. Farron was pleasant and drove quite a distance to make a Saturday appointment for us.
After living in the house for 9 months now, we know that his evaluations were pretty accurate. We didn't have any big surprises, which can happen when buying a foreclosed property.
I really don't remember what we paid for the service. However we have purchased homes in many parts of the country and I would remember if the amount was out of line with what we've paid others for the same service elsewhere.
Because of the time of year and the weather, it was dark by the time the inspection was finished. I would always recommend trying to schedule in such a way that that doesn't happen. For us it was unavoidable for this inspection.

We had an appointment with Farren and he did not show up or call. I called and he apologized and wanted to reschedule. I said we needed that same day so he had two other employees come out and do our house inspection. Very satisfied with the inspection. Don't know if they checed the water meter.

Farren responded quickly to our inquiry and completed the inspection the next day. He is very friendly and knowledgeable.

Our experience with Key Inspection was a very positive one. The inspection was extremely thorough (it took about 4.5 hrs). All of our questions we answered and the report, with photos, was emailed to us that evening.

Farren was very thorough and very patient with me. I followed him eveywhere, from the roof to the crawl space under the house. He answered all the questions I could throw at him with a very professional attitude. He was very knowledgable and was quick to tell me if there were 'unknowns' that he couldn't answer without further inspection. Most of this involved some sort of destructive testing that he wasn't allowed to do on this inspection (like, peeling paint to see if the wood was rotten, etc...) He even let me borrow a face mask so I could go under the house with him, as I didn't have one with me at the time. I would use Farren again in a heartbeat if I needed his services.
