Ford Land Surveying was easy to work with. They gave me a rough estimate over the phone and were available the following week. The other company I contacted was about the same price, but booked 5 weeks out. Darren got the work done while I was away from the house and left the corners clearly marked with rebar and wooden stakes. I received the drawing in the mail a few days later, and Darren was readily available to answer my questions.

Requested a quote on June 30. It is July 9 and I never even got acknowledgement of my request! There is no indication in Angie's List or on the Internet that they are closed or out of business

Darren was easy to work with, did a careful job, kept me informed, and completed the job sooner than any of the others I contacted would have been able to do it. His price was just slightly better than the lowest of the others, but they were all grouped pretty closely (except for one that probably didn't want the job...why couldn't they have just no-bid it?) I'll happily recommend him, and would seek him out if ever I have need of a surveying job in the future.

Took longer than expected due to research needed but Chris was very responsive and thorough. It cost a little more than I initially anticipated but after reading comments regarding other surveyors, I determined that it was well worth it to get the job done right.

Darren did a great job. He showed up when he said he would, called to let us know when he'd return; we played a little telephone tag in the beginning but once all was understood it was a go! He trekked through some thick terrain, cut brush, understory plantings to sight line and field mark. We now have a blueprint and notes about our property lines and corners, and notes about particular areas adjacent to other properties. Wish we had done this while either purchasing the property or right thereafter. It helps to know where you're sitting, or where you stand after investing in property and acreage one knows nothing about. Yes, I'd call Darren again, but sooner and while purchasing a home. You know the little surprises that unfold when buying a home? expect no less of the land- so my advice, have your land surveyed sooner than later. And don't take anyone's word when they point to a strand of trees and tell you that's where your property begins and ends. You'll go back a few years later and wonder what strand of trees did the previous homeowner mean?! Save yourself a headache. Darren is fair, communicative and easy-going. It's as though Darren solved our giant puzzle. Thanks again Darren!

Darren is the consummate professional. I found him via Angie's List and am quite pleased with not only the work he provided but the level of professionalism. We had sought out two other bids, and the lack of professionalism (from one surveyor) upon requesting a quote was appalling - they wanted to know why my husband needed to talk it over with me and even wanted to charge an exorbitant fee for filing the formal record of survey with the county. They also questioned why we needed to file a formal record since we were just building a fence. With Ford Land Surveying, all the work cost $1158.00 - this included all of Mr. Ford's work: "monumenting" the property corners with 30" rebar and surveyor ID caps; and preparing and recording a formal record of survey with the county. Mr. Ford was prompt with communication and answered my questions. He showed up early and was the consummate professional. A few days later, we received the blueprint with our survey information. We also like the fact it's a family-owned business with a history of solid experience and positive feedback. If we ever needed a surveyor again, we would hire Ford Land Surveying again - no question.
