Description of Work: These guys did a complete roofing job on my house. Like most of us, I was looking for a good roofing job for a reasonable price. These guys were far from the cheapest bid I got, but also far from the most expensive. Going though all this, I learned a ton! I wish I could pass along everything but here's at least the brief highlights of this company's performance. | |I thought it went OK, overall, maybe slightly above average--hence the overall grade of "C". The crew itself was great and big, six (6) folks. Thank goodness for that, because this company hires multiple crews with varying sizes and skills. | |The sales/contract manager seemed a personable, reasonable guy. However, I would not go with this company if you have lots of special requests. They just don't seem built to handle this easily. Part of the problem is that he communication from sales/management to the crew was practically non-existent. Sales/management was not on site during the process at any time. I tipped the crew daily with restaurant gift certificates and provided lots of drinks and snacks, even meals some days. They definitely returned the kindness in the way they worked. (I doubt sales/management heard anything about this.) | |They sent out one person early to do some special prep work which I requested and paid for. This person was not completely useless, but close--I ended up doing more than half of that work myself. Again, communication was likely part of that problem. Also, my gutters had a couple of small leaks after the job that were not addressed (not a huge issue but other companies--at a similar price point--include new gutters in their bids because they know there is a chance of damage during re-roofing). I never got closure on the gutters and a few very minor damage spots on the walls, but I was given a few hundred dollars break. So I am OK with how that ended up. | |The neighbor around the corner hired a smaller/cheaper crew to do their house and it literally took months! The crew on my house could only work between rain storms but were still completely finished in a couple of weeks. So I definitely know you can do worse than this company. They did a reasonable job of clean up but roofing CRT'D shingles "shed" so needed to have gutters cleaned not long after. | |I would do business again with this company but I wouldn't pay a super premium price. -------------- Update 8/28/2015: Roof had some minor issues (not the installers fault necessarily). Management was prompt on getting someone knowledgeable to come out. Because of this willingness to provide good service AFTER installation, I am more impressed with this company. They have some good folks. I would do business with them again.

Description of Work: Replaced entire cedar shake roof with new cedar shakes. They did a great job. Roof looks terrific. On time, cleaned up thoroughly, and with very little mess throughout. Even while it was raining! Had to be flexible on when they would start because it was tied to other jobs. Other contractors have commented on how well it was done.

Description of Work: Our cedar shake shingle roof was removed, and decking and a new composite roof was installed. From start to finish, this was a good experience. Phillip was very responsive, and gave us a competitive bid. He lives nearby, and so was available to act quickly if there were any questions or concerns. That was valuable when the neighborhood architectural committee representative was questioning our roofing choice, and when there were some roofing removal questions. Overall, we are pleased with the final result, and had a positive experience with this very large home investment.

 + -1 moreThey are going to start the work today. The estimate was for $7300. I interviewed three or four people either over the phone or in person and they had the most time and they figured out exactly what I wanted. They got right down to working carefully to see what was required.

 + 1 moreThey had been recommended by our real estate agent. There was never any sales pressure. They spent quite a bit of time with us as we tried to decide what we wanted to do with our aged roof. They gave us a long list of homes that would be representative of what our home would look like with different types of roofing. These were all jobs that they had done. Their price for the top-of-the-line cedar shakes was not much more than if we had gone with a good composition roofing. So, we decided on the shakes, with one section of metal roofing to give it an accent area. Jesse was a huge help in deciding what trim to use and which gutters would go well with it.Once we had decided on the new roof, they scheduled it and kept us informed of when work would begin and let us know any time materials arrived. They started the job when they said they would. Once they started the work, they were here every morning and worked a full day. They let me know the progress every day and kept the area picked up. They were very flexible any time we asked them for anything.The crew and management were all very friendly and professional. We ran into one minor problem when they got to the metal roof. The kitchen vent had to be fabricated to match the roofing, which we had not anticipated. They took care of it quickly and at no extra charge to us.As for the cost of the project, we went with the best metal and the best shakes, we had the solatube added, new gutters and some structural work done. We had another very prominent company give us an estimate. Their estimate for just the cedar shakes alone, without any of the additional work that we had done, was almost $9K more than what we paid for the whole job with Elite.We had one other minor issue. Apparently a small piece of the old shakes had fallen down into the kitchen vent. Any time I turned on the exhaust fan over the range, it made noise. Our exhaust fan is not an easy one to dismantle, so I was not comfortable taking it apart. They sent a crew over and took care of the problem.It was a pleasure working with them and I would have them do other work here whenever I need it.
Description of Work: Tore off old shake roofing, replaced with new cedar shakes, added solatube, one section of metal roofing, replaced all gutters and downspouts. Also had them repair a roofing structure that had not been constructed properly.

 + 2 moreWe had a very old shake roof that was beginning to fail. I asked our real estate agent if she had a recommendation, since all of her previous contacts turned out to be excellent referals. After talking with Jesse from Elite Roofing and Remodel the first time, I was very comfortable with them. We were unsure what materials we wanted to use to replace the aging roofing. Quality shakes can be pricey and we had not planned for the work to be done. Jesse gave us some estimates for different materials. He also gave us a list of homes with the materials that we could look at. There was never any sales pressure, but they offered a lot of help deciding how to proceed. We did have another large roofing company give us a bid also. They were not as easy to work with and their estimates were not even close. We ended up going with top of the line treated shakes with an additional area of commercial grade metal for accent. The estimate for the shakes was not that much more than going with composition. Jesse also had a number of suggestions to enhance the details. They were even ready to process paperwork for financing the project. We did not use it, but their relationship with the bank made me more comfortable with the company. The work was done on time and of the highest quality. We added a Solatube and new gutters all around and their estimate was far less than the other company offered even without the additon of the Solatube and gutters. The workers were very professional. Jesse stayed in touch throughout the entire project. I never had to wonder what was happening. In addition, they had to upgrade the metal roofing and even had a vent manufactured to match the roofing, which we had not planned for. They made sure it was done "right" at no additional cost to us. At completion of the project, Jesse made sure we were completely satisfied with the work. Overall, I was more than pleased with the whole project. I will likely have them do other projects when we are ready for it.
