The overall experience was fantastic. Tom and Doug were responsive, honest and provided quality workmanship. The drywall was already in and even though they were doing very wet concrete work there wasn't a single ding in the walls or water damage to the bottom of the drywall. The basement floor they finished was about 480 sq. ft spread over four rooms, three closets and a hallway. What was a boring and cold concrete slab is now a pretty finished concrete floor which while not warm also doesn't leech heat from the rooms as if it was a block of ice. We opted for a standard dolphin gray that is going to work fantastically with the Scandinavian modern look we're going for. The sealer and color they use is no V.O.C and low V.O.C. Tom told me there would be a lot of odor when we were discussing the job. However, I had forgotten he told me and when I got home after the final day the house smelled a lot. Tom took my call at 7 pm and reassured me that other then being a bad smell there was no chance for harm. So big kudos to Tom for keeping people safe and calm. And when I was putting in the below grade waste system I had set the toilet flange at 3/4" above the slab. The finishing process only adds about 1/8" so Tom and Doug created a great looking concrete platform the shape of the toilet so it would be a safe and to-code install. And because they gave that concrete the same finish it blends into the rest of the floor really nicely.

The two of them knocked out the job in 30 minutes. It was very fast.

Things were terrible and they never responded even after making an appointment.

We originally hired a Seattle firm to re-seal a concrete floor. We goofed, and did not read the proposal carefully, and paid a company a lot of money to wax a concrete floor when we thought we were getting a re-sealing. We hired these guys to strip the wax and actually re-seal the floor. Ugh. We should have hired these guys in the first place. They were very good.

I got bids from several contractors, but Tom was the only one who really listened and brought up things that I hadn't even thought about. I could tell that he really knew what he was talking about, and he walked me through the entire process of what types and colors of finishes we could choose. Though CSS wasn't the cheapest option, they weren't a lot more expensive than other providers.Tom and his crew were very professional -- always arriving on time and being un-intrusive (a plus as I work from home). They also went above and beyond. After they had gone home for the day, I noticed that an outdoor drain was obstructed by part of the construction material. The crew came down that evening to remove it just in case it rained. That's going above and beyond. The job took less time than was quoted, and we are very happy with the result.

Even though their ad states they do work for Lake Stevens area, when I called they said they didn't.

Contractor is very knowledgeable and utilizes best product available. His initial visit was very professional and he was willing to explore all options for project. Didn't criticize options that would have cost less and gave a bid based on 3 options we talked about. I went with fullest option based on written material he gave me an reference to websites. Crew was very hard working and were always punctual. Only complaint was music blasting from their parked truck when I came home the first time after they started work. After I commented it stopped and did not reoccur. They did a good job of clean up when done and I have had lots of comments about how good driveway now looks.

Tom is fantastic and we are thrilled with the results. We wanted a reddish "African slate" look in a large irregular tile pattern, finished off with a smooth grey border. This was supposed to harmonize with our landscaping and paver walkways, as well as the colors of our house. The results were beautiful, and all hand troweled and custom taped because there was no stamp pattern that had what we wanted. The stairway was also well done and now looks brand new (it was probably 50 years old and very beat up). He's certainly not the cheapest, but results are worth it and I could tell from the first meeting that he was very detail oriented and would only be satisfied with a quality result. Perhaps the only downside, and it's a minor one and somewhat expected in work like this, is the cleanup/mess prevention portion of the job could have been more attentive. The tile demolition and removal is messy, and a lot of fragments found it's way onto our lawn and flower beds, as well as our moss/rock garden that faces the patio. They did what they could to prevent and clean up stray debris, but we were picking up little tiny bits of broken tile in the garden for several weeks afterward as we came across them while gardening. It's understandable since the bits were tiny and easy to miss, but still a pain. All in all, it was a great experience and the result is terrific!

I used 3 different companies for my stamped concrete project last 7years. This is the best company if you have concrete project and I am glad I don't have to look for someone else anymore. I was very impressed with Tom, his professional work and great service. Tom is creative, detailed and honest. He responded my call and request promptly. I enjoyed talking and working with him. He and his crew cleaned and washed my patio and driveway thoroughly with pressure washer and power scrub. Other companies don't use power scrub. I like how he cleaned my patio and driveway so much! He even protected and covered my plants with a plastic tarp from the pressure washer. My patio and driveway look so great! I am very happy with what he has done and his wonderful service. I will definetly hire him to seal my driveway and patio again.

Tom and his crew removed our existing walkway and poured a new walkway as the entrance to our home. He also applied an overlay to our existing aggregate porch to match the new walkway. All finishes were stamped and colored. We had an overall design plan that was putting the walkway in a different location than previously existed. On his first visit, Tom shared his thoughts on potential issues with the design and helped us make some decisions about what we wanted. We're very grateful for his input and happy that we followed his well thought through suggestions. Tom talked through color and stamp options with us in detail so that even after just one meeting we were comfortable what he was planning to do, and that he knew what we wanted. He communicated with us about potential start dates for the project - weather and schedules permitting. He communicated regularly throughout the project about his schedule, and the job proceeded as expected. He would always contact us if he had questions about the design or any other issues as the project progressed, and was amenable to changes, and patient with our inexperience of these projects. Tom takes pride in his work, and it showed in the outcome and in his interactions with us. His price was reasonable compared to other bids we received, even though he warned us in advance that there were likely other companies who would be less expensive for pouring concrete. Final price matched the original estimate. The estimate was very detailed, which I appreciated as I knew where the cost was being incurred.

It was a nice experience; no troubles. Tom Dougherty was prompt every day and frequently wanted feedback from us. He wanted to make sure we were happy with the colors.

A really good experience. Tom is a craftsman, not a concrete contractor in my mind - artistic and awesome at what he does. The estimate process was smooth, he's fun to work with and bonded well with my wife and I. Getting the work scheduled was a bit tougher as he has mulitple jobs going at once, and if they are outside and it rains - it throws other jobs off. That was my only ding in his service. Tom and his crew cranked through the work in less than a week - there is drying throughout the process that can't be hurried. They cleaned up every day, were very polite and they just really enjoy what they do. I wasn't required to be here for the first steps. When it was time to put down the stain for the coloring - he wants the owner present as the different color stains mix fluidly and he wants you to tell him when it's just right. We did three different colors which I had pre chosen. The floors have held up really well - tons of compliments and especially in the kitchen, I can now look at the floor proudly instead of wishing it would just go away! Can't rate Tom highly enough.

Our experience with the quote process was excellent. However, I was not here when they came, so I don’t know about their punctuality.

Tom is a real perfectionist, and did an excellent job of protecting my pool and surrounding area. He is very detailed minded, and very expert. He really cares about the quality of his work. The end result of my patio is very successful - it looks great, and is a huge upgrade in both comfort and beauty over the exposed aggregate concrete that was there formerly. I'd definitely use Tom again.

Tom arrived on time, returned calls, answered questions and it was a pleasure to work with someone who took pride in hiswork. Overall, Tom made this job a very positive experience. The end result is better than we expected! A beautiful entertainmentarea and an exceptional driveway with decorative finish and fish stamped along the front - the color turned out perfect and the neighbors have given rave reviews! He is very imaginative in terms of building unique designs with nice flare for attractive appears with good functionality. I'm very pleased with his work.

My interaction went very well. It was a complicated job and they put in a lot of extra effort beyond what we had agreed on. I ended up getting what really looks like an excellent finish. Their price was average. Their quality was excellent. Their responsiveness was really good. I would recommend them to anyone who needs specialized concrete work done. He is a specialist in decorative. He was going to remove a complicated mixture of products in order to lay the products that would actually keep the floor as non slip as possible because I have wax and water on the floors so it ended up being a 3 to 4 finish, but with a lot of grids in it to keep it as non-slick as possible. He is very adaptable. When he tried additional products that didn't work, he got a refund on those from his supplier and tried different products that I had tested and ended up going with that instead. He was committed to doing the job right. I would use them again in the future.
